Thanks for the Thief reviews, guys.

I was already going to wait until it was 5 bucks, I think maybe now I won't even bother.

If they paid more than a symbolical dollar, I'd be surprised.

I think it's probably been good overall, but there have definitely been some negatives involved with it as well. Lack of attention span in the population at large is probably the #1 issue (likely) directly related to the rise of the internet.

I'm glad we have it. I just wish we'd stop letting cockshits like Verizon and Comcast and AT&T rape everybody for having the audacity to actually use it.

What? That sounds suspiciously like common fucking sense, Gen Alexander. Are you feeling well? You must have a terrible mental illness.

I'd imagine another 'problem' with the rift is that jaggies are more noticeable, since the image is much closer to your eyes? So it would really benefit a lot more from AA?

So 90 fps, at 1080p, with AA? They better ship a Titan Black with every Oculus...

Now if they'd only release the FFX HD remake on the PS4 as well, I'd be fucking SET.

The Kinect investigation combined with the UK webcam spying reveal adds up to one big "I told you so".

Followed quickly by "wtf do we do now?"

Laugh at all the MS fanboys who said that this would never be an issue. Then laugh at them for having paid 500 bucks for an underpowered piece of shit.

Does that issue occurs on all win7-64 OS'es in your company, or just that one that you're using?

The DLC never gets discounted, ever.

That said, the following DLCs are very much worth their asking price:

ME 2

Lair of the Shadowbroker.

ME 3

The Citadel.

Both of those will easily give you 15 bucks worth of enjoyment (I think Citadel may be 20... can't remember.)

As for the others, eh, I enjoyed them except for Leviathan, but I absolutely love Mass Effect. YMMV.

It's funny how this was a stretch goal for SC, but Braben just put it into Elite:Dangerous "because it was cool."

Point: Braben.

Braben now leads 2-0.

I was talking about the original campaign. But in any case, the game engine is way too limited. For a real Shadowrun experience, i would have liked free roaming in the city (or a more "live" city, a la Nomad Soul), open-world style, more Johnson's and corporations (and free choice in which side to pick).. This is not completely crazy demands as it has been done before for example, in the aforementioned Fallout.
Disclaimer: i played the tabletop RPG before, hence my desire for a more open-world style. And of course i'm buying that expansion, but that's because i'm a Shadowrun fan.

Well, had you coughed up the thirty million dollars roughly needed to make that idea a reality, I'm sure they would have been happy to integrate that for you. But since you didn't, this is what you get.

The game was made, with a completely functional editor, for LESS THAN ONE AND A HALF MILLION DOLLARS.

Hello? Is this thing on?

Q: On the publishing side, it's quite trendy to skip the publisher partnerships these days and go it alone, what value do publishers still hold for you?

David Braben: Well, the very fact that something is trendy is often a bad sign in this sort of industry because it means you're following the crowd.

I TOTALLY did not do that when I went to Kickstarter, of course! Everyone else was following the crowd, whereas I was bravely leading the way!

I do like how DirectX, and most especially D3D has been virtually stagnant, and now that there's an alternative, BOOM, "come listen to our plans for the D3D API and how it will be awesome!"

It's very similar to Time Warner suddenly being able to upgrade their customers' relatively shitty speeds in Austin now that Google Fiber is being rolled out.
