Arrrgh... BF3 was looking so good, and now I just keep hearing more and more bullshit about it.

Only sold through EA Origin(so far), because it has built in DLC sales, which was so extremely annoying in Dragon Age Origins to the point that it contributed to me boycotting DA2. DA2 being consolized bullshit also helped.

Now some apparently ridiculous weapon unlock system, with most of the guns unusable on your first few days/weeks/months? of play. To be fair, BFBC2's didn't bug me that much, but as others have said, if the game is good, don't put in this mini-reward bullshit just to appease the Farmville crowd.

Virtual ribbons and medals... does anybody really care about that crap? Achievements lead to crappier actual gameplay, in my opinion, with people doing certain actions to try to get that brass ring, instead of playing effectively as a team.

*EDIT* Grammar.

Did BF2 have a server option that unlocked everything? I think I only played on those servers because I was too lazy to grind for the unlocks at the time. Maybe they should consider doing this for more casual players.

Today is the anniversary of the bombing of Hiroshima in 1945. Going by that grim date, today is the 66th birthday for the nuclear age.

This is bizzare! The first thing I thought of when I woke today was how terrible it was that our country did this. I had no idea that today was the anniversary. Spooky.

The subconscious is a funny thing, as is "waking up."

In a crowded room yesterday, you someone might've said something like "tomorrow is the anniversary..." and you just didn't notice it (but you still heard it). Or perhaps a TV / radio / webcast was on in another part of the room/office and again you heard it but didn't notice it. Or perhaps from previous years/posts you knew the date of the anniversary but consciously forgot until you thought of the date.

Combined with the above, I've heard that the first few seconds after being awake our mind is firing quite strongly. Which explains why I sometimes don't realize that I forgot to do something or messed up a piece of code at work until I wake up the following morning.

True true true (Probably the Hitler er.. History channel)

oops, the song I wanted to post earlier was this one (mostly the 1st one) but they are all good.

I think this one plays on a PAL system because I remember it was playing faster. I like the morse code inclusion in the song.

Anyone can decode morse? You'll get names of game creators.

I can read/write Morse. .. -.-. .- -. - .-. .- -. ... .-.. .- - . -- --- .-. ... . .-.-.- .-.-.- .-.-.-

its not the just using real names that facebook is after. they want to implement a way to authenticate and verify personal information you are using to fill out your profile. facebook is finally realizing it is hard to sell your personal information if the data leads to a dead end for advertisers. only dumb fucks would give up privacy and anonymity for the privilege of using facebook. at least thats what zuckerberg admitted to have said on that infamous instant message he wrote to a colleague.

WOW! I said the exact same thing on here several times and was attacked for suggesting such a thing. It's nice to see that there are still some intelligent people on here that actually use their brains.

Note to self: Do NOT use Origin.

Good thing I didn't buy BF3 on Origin! I think that I stick with the physical purchases.

Yes, but it's not strictly enforced. I have several friends with obviously fake names.

And this is why you don't hire family to help run your business. That'd be priceless if Facebook forced people to use real names, they'd be tits up overnight. The pros of anonymity far, far outweigh the cons.

I agree with you 10000000%

It has always been an option in BC2. It's considered a casual feature where as Hardcore servers have it disabled. 2D spotting is enabled via the map, but Hardcore doesn't have the mini map and you have to actually open your map to see the 2D spots. I only play on Hardcore mode in BC2 because I hate the 3D spotting and insane damage a player can take in casual mode. The Alpha was casual mode.

I had a total blast playing BF3! Now I'm wishing that prone could be added into BC2.

Only ever tried normal mode in BC2 once. As soon as I saw how many rounds it took from an LMG to kill someone, I logged off and went to hardcore, so I don't think I ever saw the 3d spotting in that game.

That said, I didn't find the damage model far off from Hardcore BC2 to the alpha for BF3. People died plenty fast in it, giving or recieving. The spotting was just silly when you could spam Q and have little arrows pointing out people you'd never have seen.

I get the intent of it, and sure it helps with teamwork, but it's far from balanced. It really needs to have a cooldown on the use of it, and have the range it will spot people limited so that they have to be closer to the crosshair for it to work. This "everything in the scope" stuff should be restricted to recon who have the spotting mod.

I agree. It made hiding in the bushes almost useless. In the Alpha, I played as a sniper until I unlocked the Bipod and I got most of my points per round by spamming Q as I looked around the BF with my 12x scope. I should not have been able to spot through bushes, but I constantly spotted people that I couldn't even see.
I also thought that the damage in the alpha was similar to hardcore BC2 on most of the weapons. I think they still need to tweak it a lot.
The regeneragting health sucks. If they don't remove it, I hope that it's a casual feature or maybe add a timer so health doesn't start to regen until after a minute or so.

Beatnik I got into the Alpha and I'm going to tell you how I did it. It wasn't via the newsletter! I had signed up via newsletter and my inbox did not recieve a newsletter. It's been a few days since I registered. I began looking for an alternate route into the Alpha and I went to this site http://bf3blog.com/ .

I scrolled way down to this article "Battlefield 3 Alpha Trial and recommended system specs". There's a small link to sign up and if you are lucky, you get instant access via a key and Download link. I hope to see some of you in game. Good Luck!

P.S. I did take the time to read the Eula so there is a chance that they monitor the length of time people take to scroll through it, so don't just click accept. You never know!

FLAWLESS VICTORY!

If by FLAWLESS VICTORY you mean, lies and cheats to prove a point, then yes, Beamer wins. He's a bullshitter. Bottom line!

I'm removing myself from this debate as I am no longer willing to argue with childish liars nor am I willing to be associated with liars. Licensed to practice law, my balls! What a joke! Getting a frickin life Beamer, you liar. Pathetic.

I'm licensed to CALL BULLSHIT in all 50 states and I'm calling it on you!

This is probably a decent time to point out that I'm licensed to practice law in two states.

Or was. Retired at the ripe old age of 27! Being an attorney isn't much fun.

I'm calling BS! You almost fooled me, but your tactic is a common one for forum debates. Nice try! I went back through your comments and it was clear that you lied on several occassions during the debate. Fucking sad!
