I agree, doing the same content over and over is boring.
That is exactly the reason why 99% of all MMOs are as boring as watching grass grow (at least for me). And why I usually quit after two months. |

Is this a joke? I seriously can't tell.
This years theme is: The Epistle to the Galatians. Will your game be based on the Fruits of the Spirit? The Temptations of the Flesh? The abandonment of the Gospel? Separation from Legalistic Law? Or one of the other many themes present in Pauls message? Dig through your Brains and Bibles and come up with a Creative and especially FUN idea!. On the other hand, there's lot's of sex and violence in the Bible. But I fear we won't see that coming out of this competition. |

I'm not saying that piracy is OK, but:
don't start with laws. They change all the time. A few years ago it was perfectly legal (at least where I live) to download games and music; as long as you didn't distribute it for commercial gains. Then the law changed. Today it is perfectly legal to block advertisement. Maybe a law will forbid this, but probably not. Anyway, laws have to make sense and reflect the morals of its society. A law that has no acceptance with the general population will be ignored. Right now (again, where I live) the copyright laws with it's massive restrictions, for the user, lose more and more acceptance. Maybe it will change again. Laws don't always define good or bad ethics. |

Not only has it a 3 install limit, us Euros also have to pay 14.99€, which is exactly 19.8833$. I guess Atari wants it to flop on purpose.
Edit: and of course no mention of the DRM on the Atari download store.

I'd rather be a disgruntled old PC gamer witch a bunch of amazing old games, than a ignorant console player who thinks his favorite toy box invented the concept of electronic, interactive entertainment.
On a related note (as Jerykk indicated), I simply don't understand the need for a cover system on the PC. Give me keys to duck, lean and sprint and I find my cover wherever I want. And if I'm to stupid to stick to the cover by myself, I deserve a headshot. No need for a cover system.
Now get of my lawn. |

Fantasy Wars was a great game. One of the few games where I wasn't annoyed by the tight turn limit. Edit: I'm talking about the original Fantasy Wars from 1996 IIRC.

| That "Army of Two" link tried a drive-by installation of some MS mediaplayer software. As far as I can tell it is indeed from Microsoft, but still a very bad practice. |

I know a Indy Dev doesn't has the resources like many other publisher.
But seriously, I don't think it's possible in todays gaming market to make money with such a outdated looking game (since there is no demo, I can't tell how the gameplay is). It looks like a mix between Half-Life and Quake III. There are free engines available, for example Ogre, which look much better. And you get even shadows.
But who knows? Maybe the gameplay is even better then Deus Ex. |

I played the original version when it came out. Terrible buggy and crashed every few minutes. Quickly uninstalled it. Does anybody know if it's actually playable now?
