11. Re: who cares about vista! May 3, 2007, 03:39 Buckermann

And the funny thing is that 3rd party groups have no problems to get the drivers to run with other cards.
I currently use the XTreme-G 97.92, which was originaly only for the 8800, for my XP 6800 system.

Hmmm ..... You may have forgotten about a little known game called World of Warcraft? It's probably been their biggest cash cow yet .... and IS an MMO.
What he probably wanted to say was that WoW isn't a cash cow because it's a MMO, but because it's from Blizzard.
Which could be true if you consider that all of their non-MMOs were highly succesfull.

Walmart Germany already sold all their stores. And Germany is not a small game market either. On the other hand, we germans are not very original when it comes to consumer behaviour. So it will probably not make any real difference.

My favorite part was:
The final trout slap to the face of PC gamers is the fact that the menu systems are all built around the 360 controller. To select an option you have to use the mouse to click on the green button of a 360 controller that is displayed on screen.
Yeah! I allways wanted to do that on my PC!

Just because a game doesn't involve terminating simulated beings, means that it has to be boring.
But I guess everybody knows that, and I'm just ranting without a reason.

Instead, the PC is returning to the pinnacle of video game graphics -- thanks to some under-the-hood tweaks in Microsoft's Vista operating system.
Well, I'm not convinced that the above is the reason for the leapfrog. But then, I'm not a journalist for gameinfowire.

I really tried to like B E5. But while the game mechanics (combat system, skills, ballistics etc) were IMO really good, the game around that was realy bad. It was just a good technical demo, but failed as a game.
Hopefully 7.62 will be better.

I really hate every movie from Boll, but that Postal movie seems at least funny enough to pirate it.

Don't kill me for asking this, but does the demo has starforce like the previous UFO games from ALTAR?

Edit: I looked a bit around, and it seems like UFO:AL uses Securom.

1. Canadian coins reportedly bugged ... Jan 11, 2007, 01:37 Buckermann

Fear mongering bullshit from a few media outlets.
http://tinyurl.com/ym7zpb
But a U.S. agency that investigated the complaint found no evidence of any secret transmitters, or of any other tampering.

Another 50 saved. I'm quite sure there will be enough other games I can buy this year. So, no big loss for me.

The biggest problem of JT is that he sometimes sounds like a sane person and then he says unbelivable stuff like this:
Q:Are there any games you have personally enjoyed playing?

A:No. I have so little time on this earth that I choose not to waste it in what amounts to mental masturbation. I have played the violent games I have targeted to know what I am talking about. The stomping of women in GTA, in light of my representation of women who have been battered and raped made me nauseous. Anyone who "enjoys" a game like that is off his rocker.

3. Re: Anyone playing this? Dec 14, 2006, 03:55 Buckermann

I agree with SMA.
While it is (IMO) a good game, it can get tedious after some time. Still, there are allways some great battles in a campaign who make it worthwhile to play it.
But as far as I know there is a Medieval:Total Realism team already working on improving the gameplay. Hopefully they will enhance the game in the same way the Rome:Total Realism team did.

..., more than 20 nonlinear missions,...
Sounds to me like there will be no world map, just 20 missions. If this is true, it's a major dissapointment for me.

While a expansion is nice, it would have been even nicer if the devs would fix the game bugs first, before making a expansion.

14. Japanese Battery Nov 9, 2006, 15:32 Buckermann

Is not water-based but only activated by water:
A Japanese inventor is developing a battery, made mainly of carbon-based compounds, that's activated by a single drop of water
Quite a difference.
