3. Hell gate London Single Player Jan 19, 2008, 18:25 Buckermann

The challenge with launching Hellgate: London was that it was both a single-player stand-alone game and an online game. This meant our focus was divided at times, but now that the game is out, we're all about working with the online community to get them the features that they want and making the play experience better and better.
In other words, screw singleplayer support. We got your money, now get lost.
Douche bag.

News Comments > Hellgate: London Patch Plans
16. Re: No subject Dec 1, 2007, 17:27 Buckermann

Buckerman: They actually have, so I'm not sure what your beef is. The current live version on the servers is 0.5, and you can download the 0.5 patch for single player.

Single player has only the first 0.1 patch from November/5. Check the HGL forums if you don't believe me.
This post has a reply from Kaiser (Senior Community Manager) about the issue,.

Would be nice if they would release all the fixes for the single player portion (minus that subscription stuff) of the game too.
But I guess that is only wishfull thinking...

Ummm actually the copy protection has been gone since the last patch, version 1.3.
Oops. I haven't played since patch 1.2, that may explain my confusion.

Besides fixing bugs with this patch, they also got rid of the copy protection (IIRC it was Securom).

While I don't think that this patch will suddenly make everybody like HGL, it looks like it gets closer to a "finished" game.
And regarding the increase of the charater slots from 3 to 24 for non-sunscriber, I never understood why they limited them to 3 three. That certainly looked like a rip-off.
And maybe they fixed the vanishing drone inventory this time for real. IIRC, so far every patch released was supposed to fix it.

Here is the correct link:

But it seems this is not Blue's fault. The heading for the LoTR review is Hellgate:London...

Deis,
maybe your version has more than one language included? Since the above version is NA only it has no need for non-english audio.

1. Looks nice Oct 2, 2007, 14:14 Buckermann

Looks nice (haven't played the demo), but seems to be aimed at younger gamers.

And according to the website (which is awfully slow) this demo contains the first of four chapters, not the first four chapters.
Das erste von vier Kapiteln ist komplett spielbar.
Translation: The first of four chapters is completly playable.

TechConnect Magazine must be one of the worst online magazines (based on the above preview). Lot's of (blocked) ads, and five pages of 5-10 sentences each without any real information.

www.tcmagazine.com was added to my host file.

The interresting thing is that Boll made some decent movies before he entered the game-movie business. Not exactly hits, but also not really terrible movies.

I'm usally a big fan of Indie games and don't care much for fancy GFX, but this sucks in a major way.
If you want a simple 3-D dungeonbasher, try Dungeon Runner. The basic version is free to play, totally boring after a few hours, but still way better than this.

News Comments > Uwe Boll Movie Game
12. Re: Jul 26, 2007, 03:45 Buckermann

This is my favorite quote from the wikipedia about Boll:
Boll blames the poor commercial performance of his videogame adaptations on his distribution company, Romar, and has filed a lawsuit against them.
Here I thought that Bolls movies sell bad because they are bad. I couldn't be more wrong. It's because of a conspiracy!

SimCity Societies looks like the proof that 3D isn't necessarily better. In this case it looks absolutly artificial, like toys for little kids.

Why in the name of the Intarweb gods is that Jumpgate site made with flash? Three screenshots to click and a field to enter your email for the beta. And on top of that, 90% cpu utilization. I hope nobody earned any money for that shit.
