If at first Keith Vaz doesn't succeed he tries, tries and tries again.

No, I am not dropping my "JoyPad" until I finish that final level where the tentacle squirts!

So guys, I know all the flooding has caused the prices of regular hard drives to jump up, but has that also made the cost of SSD go up significantly?

About the candy/acid... that would be because the main ingredient in sour candy is citric acid, which is from citris fruits. So eating lemons is similar in acidity.

Also I found something at a grocery store about a year ago, its called Sour Salt in the kosher section. Its just pure powdered citric acid, so one could add that to any candy and turn it sour.

As a Chemist, let me make one thing clear. pH is concentration dependent. So, really, when they measured the pH of those candies, what is more important to know is how much candy they put into how much water. Without knowing that information, that info is pretty much irrelevant.

Creston.

TV's are designed to be viewed from far away. Not close up. You can not use a TV as a computer monitor unless you are far away from it.

There is a reason computer monitors cost a lot more then TVs....

If there are garages or autozones or whatever so close by, why would you even bother with roadside assistance?

They already could Prez. You can link any application through Steam, and it will alert your friends you are playing it if you launch it from Steam.

I just wish my current versions would transfer over to steam versions.

I can't read this thread anymore. Its making me very sad. I don't own Skyrim (yet) so I can't get in on the fun. Of course, my friend, who is a very hot looking girl, and unemployed, gets it gifted to her. Sometimes I wish I had boobs.

Average cost of a boobjob is $3,000-$4,000.

Start saving!

That is the price per boob though...

Well, the other problem with limiting it to demos will not allow the end user to evaluate how well (if at all) it will run on their own system.

Yeah, I am shocked how well it worked. I tried out the Dead Space 2 demo.

It allows cheap ass netbook systems to run fairly modern games, in an odd sort of way.

You of course need to have a really good internet connection.

Ehh Cutter, if your current MoBo supports the new CPU you got, unless you are looking to overclock, it is probably not worth it.

what are the odds it'll get cracked later today?

About the same as going to hell for pirating such a great game

It's just encrypted, I don't think there is any protection beyond that.

It is not the complete game though, that you preload. So regardless if you crack the encryption it will not allow you to play the game.

Well mr smarty chemical major man - then how did you vehicle self combust!? And yes, I do have fire extinguishers, multiple. House, vehicles, garage. Why wouldn't I?

The brilliant engineers at Mazda ran the fuel line directly over the hottest part of the engine (the exhaust manifold), and so when it sprung a leak it started pouring a high flammable liquid on something hot enough to ignite it.

You would not have a fire extinguisher because you are supposed to have some cool device on your utility belt that does the same thing but in a smaller compact size in a cooler manner. Duh! You might want to put a helmet around that bat shaped head covering!

I have heard Pizza Pie, but never just pie alone. And za? That is just stupid.

Coming from a guy who's car started on fire....

Pfft. I have a BS, MS, and PhD in Chemistry. And I also completed police academy when I was younger for fun; so you can not even hold that over me.

I was also smart enough to have a fire extinguisher available. Can you say the same?!

So yes, all these thing add up to the fact that if I say something is stupid out of opinion it is universally true for everybody else, regardless of their opinion!

I had pizza too last night! Left overs for lunch.

What is really odd, in the Chicago suburb areas they make the pizzas round and then cut the pizza into the same little square shapes as you described; you have to specifically ask for "pie cut", the bastards. This is for hand-tossed or thing crust.

And it is really hard to find "Chicago style" pizza in the Chicago suburbs....

Only very few games purchased from other places can be incorporated into Steam so you can re-download them from steam.

How ever, any game (or applications for that matter) can be added to steam manually; so it is in your list of games. When you run the game it will notify people on your friends list you are in that game, etc.

Full steam community in the games do not work though.

Thanks all for the Laptop recommendations yesterday, I read them today in the office (since I'm STILL without power).

In short, I was looking for a 15" desktop replacement for software/DB development and gaming; something with a mid-2GHz i7 Quad.

If this is going to also be your primary gaming rig, be prepared for it to be big and bulky. And also, the power inverter (often over looked) is going to be quite large and heavy as well. Your battery will not last long either.

I am currently using an Asus gaming laptop as my main gaming rig, the 17.1 screen is great; plus I have HDMI out and can go to larger trivially. But it is not exactly pleasant to carry around or super portable.

If you do not need portable gaming needs, you can get a decent cheap laptop and a decent mid-ranged desktop for the price of a gaming laptop.

Regards to laptops and what other people are saying.

The 560M is decent, but it will not handle games like Metro 2033 at 1080P to great.

If it is going to also be your primary gaming system you want to step up to the 570m or 580m at least.

All of my hardware (gaming and other wise) has been laptops for a while now. I have over 10 laptops that are less then 2 years old.

What exactly do you want this laptop for? That will narrow down the requirements.

I personally prefer Asus laptops. They have good style and have been by far the most rugged I have ever used.
