| It's not a horrible system. You earn points by accomplishing certain tasks and achievements in-game and then spend the points you earned on unlocks for any Ubi game that supports Uplay. However, I'm already logged into Xbox Live, which has a different set of achievements. The whole system just feels redundant. The worst part is that you have to log into Uplay after you launch whichever game you are playing and it takes a little bit to log in, and you can't play the game in any shape, way or form while browsing Uplay. |

Damn it. I really wanted this game until UBI announced it's new soul-eating DRM scheme.
And no, I don't plan on pirating the game in protest. I'll just spend my money on something else. |

I have played both the Xbox360 and the PC version and I have to say the PC version wins hands down. The graphics are good (Even on my old 8600GTS). The controls are fine though I really wish you could duck down or crouch in this game, that's my top issue with this release right now.
Friday should see the release of the beta dedicated server software, so hopefully that will have a positive effect on the PC MP community. The client btw. already has everything it needs to run with dedicated servers, including a server browser.
So far I'm not regretting this purchase, but I have simple taste these days. |

Could do they import the US boxed version?
I know when I used to live in Germany I would import all the time, bypassing any control the goverment had over content. |

I fully understand that obviously DLC is something that these companies are making money with, obviously the concept took or they wouldn't have continued it. I'm not paranoid, but the fact remains that DLC is a concept that had it's hard roots on consoles. PC Games for the most part had, if anything expansion packs. (Ignoring the quality vs. price of these expansions).
Now, just because something is good buisness dosen't mean it's good for us as customers. And honestly, the concept probably took better on current generation consoles because people there didn't know any better, or ever had the option of getting custom mods etc. from 3rd parties.
It's something we all will have to live with, if we like it or not.

I do have some very good memories from the very first NFS ever released. Back then I had my trusty old 14.4 modem to keep me connected to my buddy.
I did enjoy Hot Persuit and Most Wanted as well. |

Eh, didn't plan on spending 59 bucks on a game anyways. I got plenty of other games to choose from that do exactly what I want them to do. ARMA2, DCS:Black Shark etc. are a just a few of them.
No big loss. |

I didn't look too bad. However something that has been bothering me with military shooters in the last few years is the lack of detail. Even in previous versions of America's Army, regular soldiers would all run around with M16A2's or A4's, and use nothing but iron sights. Then they released the Special Forces patches for AA, now you could pick between M68's and ACOG's for your weapons. Like that's the difference between regular and irregular forces today. It just seems to me that instead of doing research, these companies just go with everyone's common conception of the equipment of the modern armies around the world. At least the optics of the Javelin looked mostly correct. Is it really that hard to look at pictures and research materials for today's theater of operations?
Eh, maybe I'm just nitpicking. |
