There should be a website with stories that real people send in, telling about their bad days. Hmm.....

that is an *excellent* idea!

68. Re: Which 3d card Sep 30, 2003, 11:59 tron

Which 3d card should I get? A GeForceFX 5600 Ultra, or the Radeon 9600 Pro? Which one is the better card?

i recently bought a new vid card, and researched this very question. the 5600 is better... as crispy says, the radeon 9500pro is better then the 9600pro, but even still the 5600ultra is a better bet if you go with EVGA... i bought the EVGA 5600ultra, becuase of it's OC abilities. the EVGA model comes with ram rated at 900mhz but clocked to 800mhz... i have been running my card with the core speed bumped up +10mhz and the memory running at 860mhz. it has operated perfectly stable for over a month now.

plus, radeon 9500pro's are tough to find any more.

It missed me totally. Did it get you?

i took it 2 times, in totally different ways, and both "results" said a lot of baloney about how depressing my life was and how i want to change it but won't or can't. i get the feeling it relies on base human insecurities to try and seem insightful, when actually it is very random.

but that would be an even greater test of their strength than that big bad wolf.

"i'll huff -n- puff and... and... go down to Home Depot and buy a chainsaw and drop a tree on your house!" ??

it's a good thing fairy tales come from a time before technology i suppose.

Again, this is not the time or place for a theological discussion of any kind.

well, steve, when you call someone else's belief system a "narrow minded superstition", wouldn't you say that from the other person's point-of-view you are starting a theological discussion?

at least i didn't tell you to "F*** Off".

and yes, star wars is a movie. written by a man. that man has beliefs. his beliefs get translated into his art. his art is open to interpretation by those who view it. usually, people who like the art the most are those who share similar ways of looking at reality. i thought that, because of your nickname, star wars would be a suitable frame of reference for throwing an idea into the mix.

i didn't mean to offend you... it was just an observation...

No one is interested in your narrow-minded rants about ancient superstitions.

jediluke... isn't that quote pretty similar to what Han Solo told Obi Wan about "the force" in Star Wars??

with your nickname, i couldn't resist bringing that up.

you're not going to Heaven, you're going to Hell

Mr. Webb, i also am a Christian and my response to your above statement would be "judge not, lest ye be judged yourself".

hardcore tactics and interpretations and the shoving of religion down people's throats serves neither God nor man, and least of all - yourself.

Christian means Christ-Like. Unless you are striving to be Christ-Like, don't say you are a Christian

once again, James, "judge not". yes, the perfect ideal of Christianity is to strive for Christ-like perfection. however, the bible states that by merely believing in Christ we are saved, and become Christian.

each of us has our own place here on Earth, and some of us are more capable of certain things than others. i suggest you let God speak to his people and make his demands to them - i do not believe it is up to man to judge and condemn his fellow man.

i understand that you most likely are trying to be helpful and do good, but this is not the place for hardcore preaching and judgement. as i said, i am a Christian - and i participate in these forums without damning everyone to hell. it's not up to me to decide what another man's life is. that is between him and God. i believe in teaching by example. i'll let people know i'm Christian if it comes up, or they ask. i don't hide it. however, forcing my beliefs on other people is a road to nowhere. my best hope is that by behaving well and being helpful and kind to others here, they might someday equate my behaviour with my religious belief system and it will make them think better of Christianity. it was "fire and brimstone" Baptist preaching that forced me to atheism in my early 20's. it was through listening to my own heart and the kind and gentle suggestions of other Christians that i came back to God.

let people walk their own road, offer advice if asked, but yelling and damning them sure won't win you any friends, or converts.

i know what you mean about missing summer! but, priorities are priorities...

Even blue knows what free speech is.. there's a free speech ribbon at the bottom of the site.

that's right soup, you and freddy have the right to puke-up whatever filth finds it's way into your so-called minds. however, i hope you are deeply aware that you also have to right to suffer the consequences of your actions; whatever form those consequences may manifest themselves in.

aside from that, i only hope that one day you mature enough mentally and emotionally that you feel true remorse and shame for the infantile way you waste your energy on these forums. to mess with a man who has just suffered a horrible loss is lower than i thought even you two would go.

i suggest you get up, walk to a mirror, look yourself in the eyes and think about what you are saying and how it affects others. but, i doubt you have the courage to do so.

blue, i'm sorry to hear of your loss... may you find the strength and peace you need during this rough time in your life.

and as for keeping up with the news and the "backlog" you seem to worry about - let it go... be with your family, use the site as a distraction if need be, but for goodness sake - there is no need to worry about us missing some trivial bit of news about a screenshot or video card review. i think i speak for everyone here when i say that we fully understand that your family is more important than keeping us posted... we can afford to miss a bit of "news" while you deal with your loss.

that said: take care, man. we love you and support you whatever you need to do.
