I honestly don't know how the game plays, having never bought a copy myself. The Serious Sam-esque FPS type doesn't really do anything for me. /shrug
At least, that's the impression I got when I dropped over at my nephew's house and he and his buddies were playing a game on their Xbox. I noticed that when he took it out of the machine, it appeared to be a CD-ROM with "BSTORM" written on it in black sharpie. But, yeah, those PC pirates will get you every time... |

NKD wrote on Apr 9, 2012, 23:59: DLC is going to continue to be an issue for triple-A titles because the cost of development increases while the retail price of a game is decreasing (after inflation is taken into account.) Indie games can make their games more affordably with less money lost to the middle-men, so it's not a big deal there. Nah. I can't accept this explanation. I'm pretty sure triple-A titles like ME3 are making metric buttloads of profit for EA/Bioware. But they're gonna try to nickle-and-dime you on DLC whenever they can. There simply is no excuse for day zero on-the-disc DLC being a extra paid SKU.
I'm willing to bet that indie developers don't even come close to the total profit margin per copies sold that the big publishers do with triple-A high profile titles. |

I'm no big fan of Obama, but hasn't he announced he opposes SOPA? What's the point of this attack?

Just look at Greece for the perfect example. |

Are you seriously going to stand by that comment? Darks, did you actually, you know, bother to read my comment at all? Especially the part where I said "Don't get me wrong. I agree about the rolling early access. I have no problem with that"?
Or the part where I said "it's a good way to prevent a million people in the newbie zones at once and causing the server to catch fire and explode"?
My gripe is with the way it's being handled. I have zero problems with the "staggered start" approach. I just wish they would stop it with this "wait around and hope you get an early access e-mail which you may or may not get today" silliness and just say "Hey, if you put in your pre-order code from (date 1) to (date 2), you can start playing early on (date 3)."
I did get my email early this Moring telling me that I was now able to go and play. Well, it must be special to be you. |

The rolling entrance makes sense to me. Don't get me wrong. I agree about the rolling early access. I have no problem with that... it's a good way to prevent a million people in the newbie zones at once and causing the server to catch fire and explode.
It's just the way they're handling it. Tell me when I can play. That's all I want to know. But they won't... they're sending out invite e-mails in "waves" that is supposed to be based on the date you entered your pre-order code. The first "wave" went out a little late and then they sent the second "wave" at around 9:30am EST. And they just sent the third "wave".
No, they're not telling you when the "waves" are going out. You just have to wait and hope you're getting access.
They could alleviate a lot of frustration and QQ if they just said "Look at the chart. Match it with the date range you submitted your pre-order code. That's when you'll get early access." Period. Done. |

Worst early access ever.
It would make a lot of people much, much happier if they just went out and said "Hey, if you pre-ordered from (date) to (date), you can start your early access on (date/time)." This silly "e-mail wave" idea is frustrating and asinine.
I know it's hard to believe, but some of us do actually have things to do other then hang around our computer and wait for an e-mail that may or may not come. |

What a disappointing trailer. The choice of music was... lackluster, at best. I almost fell asleep during it.
As an aside: am I on the only one who finds those "Please enter your age" prompts to watch videos and trailers utterly useless and asinine? |

How many of you who posted here bought Battlefield3? Now how many of those who did buy it hate EA with a passion? And that's kind of the rub, isn't it? Battlefield 3 actually looks like a pretty fun game, (I had a blast with Battlefield 2142) but with EA apparently taking a new level in jerkass every month, I've steered clear of it. And that kinda sucks.
Well, at least I have Skyrim to keep me busy. |

We have listened to our customers I doubt that the majority of EA customers think "forum bans = being locked out of the game" is a good idea. |

Bets on where the next one takes place? Summerset Isle and/or Valenwood, with a focus on the rise of the Second Aldmeri Dominion. I imagine it would be a rather interesting setting. You can help the Dominion or maybe play as a resistance fighter, or maybe as a covert agent of the Empire.... "Should I help or hinder the Nazi Elves?"
Also, both Summerset and Valenwood would keep with the tradition of each Elder Scrolls sequel being later, alphabetically speaking, then the previous one. |

Scarlett Johansson hacker suspect allegedly stalked woman. And in other news, fire is hot.
Nice to know with all the crime in our society and all the people being victimized, law enforcement is devoting so much energy to putting the hammer down on the person who hacked Scarlett Johansson's cell phone. Meanwhile, the cops didn't even pretend to care about finding the dirtball that stole my debit card number and emptied my bank account. |

Oh, no they're quite honest. They couldn't care if 3 people or 30 million people are playing it.
Now, the number of people who are actually forking down money to buy a copy? Well, they care a great deal about that. |
