News Comments > BlizzCon 2008 Ticket Sales Fixed
2. Lies! Lies and slander! Aug 11, 2008, 18:57 Xoxotl

The site is NOT fixed. As the person before me said, it was up for one or two minutes at most, and then crashed hard as everybody realized it was back up.

Apparently some tickets were sold before the server melted again.

If you go to the Blizzard shop page, you'll get the "Site is down for Maintenance" page (it's been down for almost an hour now).

Blizzard just confirmed NO tickets have been sold.

I imagine right about now the Blizzard Store server is a bubbling puddle of melted plastic, metal, and silicon.

News Comments > BlizzCon 2008 Tickets on Sale
1. Crash & Burn Aug 11, 2008, 12:49 Xoxotl

Blizzard insisted on selling the tickets through the Blizzard Store site, which is slow and unstable on a normal day.

It's no surprise that the server died in a fire. As far as I can tell, NOBODY has actually managed to snag tickets due to site and XML errors.

And the Star Wars legacy gets pissed on just a little more. Do they need to money to buy a new mansion at the Skywalker Ranch?

Let's see how long the Blizzard servers last under the onslaught of people trying to buy tickets at 12:01am 8/11.

Already people are talking about buying multiple tickets strictly for the loot bag. Hope Blizz limits ticket purchases...

What ever happened to the Warhammer Online beta test. I signed up for a loooooooong time ago and while I occasionally get the newsletter, I've heard nothing about it since then.

3. Any good? Feb 21, 2008, 17:23 Xoxotl

I was intrigued by Societies, but I heard that the reviews weren't all that great, in particular, it was fairly buggy.

Did EA fix the game yet? I've seen it in the Bargain Bin, and I'm tempted...

If it gets out that you're a company that settles, you invite dozens of lawsuits like this.

I am definitely no fan of 3DRealms in general or Scott Miller in particular, but he is 100% right about this.

I'm waiting for Red Faction: Gorilla, a masterful blending of the Red Faction and Donkey Kong franchises.

Anything for the chance to see what sort of effects explosive decompression would have on Mario and Diddy Kong.

Yeah, because CNN, MSNBC, and the like are much more accurate and unbiased as Fox News. They just skew the other way.
