I am highly pessimistic about this. Guess I'm holding something of a grudge... I bought "Battlecruiser 3000AD" back when it was released by Take Two, and I was highly disappointed.
That being said, if Derek can actually pull it off, I'll give it a shot. I'm certainly not holding my breath.

...not to get onto the "Bill Roper = Teh Devil" bandwagon here, but, seriously, who didn't see this coming?
That being said, I've been in the beta and I've been having fun with it. Certainly not the next WoW, but still an enjoyable time. I'm seriously considering buying a 6-month subscription. |

Well, I was thinking about getting a 6-month subscription. I had no idea that "they were running out". I never got an e-mail or message to that effect. Nor did I have any idea they were limited.
Eh, thanks to Cryptic for making the decision for me. I'll most likely be better off. |

Agreed. It's a fiasco. Between making those who aren't FilePlanet subscribers wait 45 minutes just to start downloading the beta client (twice if you downloaded the outdated .5 client first!), the .6 client is still broken, as is the patcher (I've lost count the amount of times it stalled... usually only .5 MB in!). This is all compounded by the fact there has been NOTHING from Cryptic in the forums except a 8-hour old message saying "Oh, it's fixed, have fun!" followed by 110 pages of people saying "No, it's still broken." This really shakes my faith in this game.
And they have to gall to try to sell you a lifetime subscription at this point.
Update: Stalled at 2970KB. (/sigh) |

| It's a matter of control. The Chinese government keeps a tight reign on those 100's of Asian MMO's. But it doesn't have the same level of control and censorship in WoW so they choose to ban it instead. |

I agree but most Brits are a hell of a lot more humble and more polite than my Yankee neighbours.
Holy crap. Slippery Jim is Mexican?!? That must be it. I refuse to believe that a douchebag like him can be Canadian. I know way too many great Canadians. |

This made me LOL - the military's obsession with acronyms has no end.
Oh, the US Military do love their TLA's. (Three Letter Acronyms)

i wouldnt be surprised if these guys got some bullshit from Homeland security over "terrorist training materials" or something fucked up like that
Space Captain... not sure how US Homeland Security can be blamed for censoring a game being developed by Scots in Scotland. Just like it's improbable to Blame Bush... the guy's been out of office for six months now. |

If it was R*, they would have said "Fuck you, you redneck, pedophile, right-wing arseholes. We'll develop the games we want to develop!" and then sell a million copies based on the controversy alone.
I don't recall Rockstar pretty much telling roughly half of the US population to go fuck itself when trying to sell any of its games.
