I guess people still haven't figured out that Turbine is just a money laundering outfit for the Boston area.

What is going to be funny is just how completely unimportant this game will probably turn out to be. I know we all have a soft spot in our heart for the creator of doom and quake, but today, any new fps is just yet another fett clone in a sea of fett clones.

I do love the sensationalist media hype though. Always good for a laugh.

Dude: First of all, the pirates attacking one miner are going to be pitiful. There's no "BOOM, dead" in that situation, unless you're an NPC, so it's a choice. Also, months of training doesn't vanish with your expensive ship, or even with getting podded.

Secondly, the PVP doesn't find you unless you unless you're doing something reckless. I like your cat-and-mouse analogy, but think of it this way: unless you have back-up, you are a mouse in Eve. Even the strongest Titan will be destroyed by hordes of smaller ships, that's why you travel in fleets.

Don't act like dealing with other players is too much trouble. If you're absolutely unable to find a corp to play with in-game, go to the official messageboards and so who's recruiting.

All of which is completely meaningless to a new player who thinks they can "fend off some pirates" as referenced in the movie. Its just a blatent fabrication.

Don't get me wrong, I still play Eve from time to time, but it is certainly not the game that is portrayed in that video.

Imagine you warp into an asteroid field and find a mining ship getting attacked by pirates, you decide to...DEAD. You died because the pirates attacking outnumbered you and insta-killed you with WAY BETTER WEAPONRY the instant you came out of warp, game just didn't realize how fast you died, so you thought you might have a choice. Now you're in a pod, what are you going...BOOM, dead. You should have tried to flee but they got you. Sorry try again later.

Almost right. But to be even more accurate, the new player would never have gotten to the miner in the first place, because they would be blown up right as they decloaked out of the warpgate.

Nice video. Absolutely no relevence to the real game, however.

Oh, don't you worry. I never plan on breeding. Babies are fucking up this planet almost as much as China. Didn't you read what I wrote before? We need less babies. Just look at all the hard gangster wannabes shooting up neighborhoods.

And you don't put an apostrophe with "its" unless you're trying to say "it is." Go to school.

So sophomoric.

So you can prove conclusively that you have to grind longer because of chinese gold farmers?

Oddly enough, it always seems to me that prices go down, not up. Also seems that plenty of gear drops from dungeons, or quests, or raids. Crazy, I know.

Keep parroting off what someone else told you though, that cluelessness looks good on ya.

Demand... supply. I don't see a problem.

Whiners who want to champion the "cause" of in game "economies" are the same kind of people who strap themselves to a tree to protest it from being cut down. Some people just want to complain about something. And they will never be able to give any substantial reasoning behind their protest. Just parrot off whatever someone else told them.

I mean, seriously, its a video game. Step back and say that again... vid e o game.

I really enjoyed ME, but I also bought it on sale for $20. Money well spent at that price. If there is a sequel, I'll jump on the bandwagon of "less combat, more fluid platforming". I would really like to see a nod to the very cool MDK, and put in a little base jumping ability, with a retractable, streaming parachute thing. It would be on my very short list of games that I will eventually buy.

So far, the only games to really tickle my fancy on my PS3 have been Mirror's Edge, Valkyria Profile, and Dead Space. Resident Evil 5 wasn't bad, but Dead Space set the bar for survival/horror for me now.

As long as they can come up with fun gameplay dynamics, and plenty of content, then I'll play it. I've played lots of MMORPG's, and yes, some have been horrible, clones, or just vaporware. I'm not jaded, as some are. If these guys have a free trial (or open beta), I'll give it a shot and judge the game on its own merits.

Not sure if its the same vehicle, but has anyone seen the ads for the volvo that "stops itself"?

Now, I think that is about the dumbest "safety" feature ever. Let me explain. If you hand someone a comb, what do they do? Comb their hair probably. Now, lets say you hand someone a comb and say "thats an unbreakable comb". Now what do they do? They try to break it.

So I think these people that are going to buy these volvos that "stop themselves" are going to be curious and deliberatly try it out, and end up causing more accidents.

Well, I figured I've always wanted to play Beyond Good and Evil, and for 10 bucks, I made the plunge to try out my first digital distribution service.

Simple registration, they took paypal, and you could even download some extra goodies with the game, including a manual. My initial impression is definitely favorable.

My only concerns on digital distributions services at this point (can we just call em DDS?) is that I can forsee having to make a bazillion accounts eventually...

All of which require Internet authentication - once highly reviled the world over.

Impulse is a digital distribution services. So, you sort of have to have an internet connection to begin with to get the games.

The problem people have, is with boxed games requiring constant online authentication, when some folks might not have an internet connection (as crazy as that sounds), or you know, your ISP/router/network card malfunctions, and renders your game unplayable.

Instead of getting rid of guns, or violent video games, lets get rid of idiots. Ship em all out to some third world country, starting with Whacko Jacko here.

1. You fail to realize, the world is comprised of 85% idiots.
2. What does Micheal Jackson have to do with this?

1. Re: Starcraft 2 Interview. Mar 22, 2009, 15:01 Stanly Manly

It kills me when agenda is introduced into these types of interviews.

"Strategy Informer: Piracy. This is a pretty big problem for the PC at the moment. What is Blizzard's take on this?"

What is funny is how Mr. Browder basically brushes this aside. I mean, this is Blizzard we are talking about. In a recent article I read, Activision/Blizzard posted financials detailing 0% debt, and nearly $3 billion in cash on hand. Doesn't seem that piracy is a real big problem there.

Of course, I don't expect much from online "journalism".
