I'm kind of a Transformers purist... Still, I could live with Optimus Prime being a snout type big rig instead of a cab over, but those designs... are just terrible.

So yesterday they aired the second episode of Battlestar Galactica. This show is so good I didn't even realize it was a two-hour (Actually, hour and a half, but iirc, north american tv pads that out to two hours.) episode before I looked at my watch after it was done. In a word, Awesome. And completely stealth launched. So stealthy was this launch, that Norway's biggest paper had a full page article about it the day *after* the first episode last week.

Wheat has been a staple of most Middle Eastern and European diets for over 10,000 years, so I'm wondering where all the sudden wheat (gluten) allergies are coming from. Is it people of non-ME/Euro descent who cannot process it? Is it better diagnosis of allergies so that instead of a kid dieing while very young we can say "don't give that child X"? Or a combination of both?

Yeah, that's not completely accurate. Taming of sheep/goats and early experiments in farming took place east of the mediterranean sea from about 10K BC. 5K BC there was farming north of the alps. Around 4K BC in Denmark, and around 2K BC in southern Norway.

Also, I found a Danish website;

http://www.netdoktor.dk/sygdomme/fakta/levnedsmiddelallergi.htm

that suggest that the heredetary component is small, and that the risk of developing gluten allergi increases the earlier children start eating bread or porridge.

Changing the name of Danish Pastries, trashing our embassy... Will the injustice never end? Luckily, the avian flu is inching towards Norway, so finally there's something besides pissed off muslims on the news...

That's what I thought; Twice as many fat people in Canada as in Norway. And then, twice as many as that in the US? So a very small percentage of the population has disorders that make 'em fat eating a normal amount of food, but 30% of the population? I used to weigh like 240, but the I stopped eating potato chips, and lost like 40 pounds in a few months.

Thoughts?

It's only fair that you who is less likely to use your medical insurance pay less for it. Possibly a bonus system, like in automotive insurance?

That's what I did to. One tip though; Make sure to not trip on the usb cable while the drive is hooked up and running. Turns out that sort of thing destroys IDE drives.

Well, Soap Opera boy edited his post and removed his question.
So I edited mine and removed the answer.

Soap opera boy. Thank you, that's half the joke atleast.

Yes, yes. I know it's not a good joke :|

Anyway, I found out what it was, so I removed the question. Then you posted the answer. Then you removed your answer. And took the opportunity to make fun of me. Kinda like being back in high school. Well, that last part is.

EDIT: Now, if I learned to spell... I would know how to spell, I guess.

And on a more personal note, I am also flying to be with my sister/brother in law and mom to start dealing with my substance abuse problem I have as well. I'm due to fly back in 2 weeks but will see how things go. Not to say I won't be back one day but wanted to thank Blue, and many of the regulars here on the boards for years morning laughs. And please wish me luck (no flowers or cookies) and I hope to see you all soon.

Good luck with that, Half Elf. We'll all be here when you get back.

More exciting was the trailer for Syriana. Although (I think) it was released a while back in the US, it's not out here until March 3. V for Vendetta might be worth a look too.

V for Vendetta. Yeah, looking forward to that one. Alan Moore is a genious. Tried looking up that Syriana thing, but... does not Google work today?

Oh, and little brother says thanx for the anti-viral tips, but he went with some other free thingy... er... bit-something-or-other...

AVG Free...

Ditto AVG - we use it at work and I have it at home. No problems at all with it.

So AVG then? Ok, I'll give him a call later. Thanx for the tip.

Also, according to wikipedia, in the Underworld:Evolution article:

Classifications

MPAA: R for pervasive strong violence and gore, some sexuality/nudity, and language.

I'm looking forward to this

I also see that Ms. Beckinsale will be starring in a movie called Click... Now, I don't know how well you guys know Milo Manara's work, but I predict that at least a few comic book geeks will walk out of that film disappointed.

In Sweden, Valentine's Day (Alla hjÀrtans dag) isn't such a major event as over here in the US.

Heh. The retail industry is continually striving to make Valentines Day as big as possible here in Norway. Thanks to earlier efforts of the valiantly struggling crap-peddlers, Christmas now starts in October, and I'm sure they would like it to sorta slide over into Valentine's Day. Or Valentine's Week or something. Which would ideally fade into Easter Month.

Hmm... Snakes occasionally choke on their food, but usually they're pretty good at judging the maximum size of what they can eat, right? (IANAH*). Possibly the snake thinks the hamster is too big? Do hamster's have winter coats? If they do, the situation may change come spring...

Ah, finally got the ugly fish.

Thank you.

When it comes to Olympic statics, arranged by gold, silver, bronze:

Sweden: 30 39 30
Norway: 96 90 75

Wonder what country has the most doped athletes?

NOTE: I don't follow cross country skiing, so naturally I looked this shit up at wikipedia...
