How Has Windows Search Improved Since Win2k? Hint: It Hasn’t.

Win7 and Vista search never even work for me. I installed cygwin because doing a 'find / -name blah' was orders of magnitude faster.

Please be good. It's budget priced ($15 I believe), so as long as it's fun, I'm there.

I must be senile this does not look anything like i remember Rise of the Triad to be like? I remember like a crossbow or something, lots of green.... Zzzz, sorry did I just nap? Yeah ugh, weird.

I think you're thinking of something else. Heretic or something. This looked pretty ROTTish to me.

I've never played a CoD. What do you mean? You can get booted from games for not ponying up for the Deluxe Edition?

I signed up to streaming Netflix for the free month and I am simply blown away by the atrocious selection they have in the Horror and Sci-Fi & Fantasy sections which happen to be the only genres which really interest me.

Even the TV shows are way behind such as Dexter which only has the first three seasons and most of the documentaries are fairly old as well.

Is it just the Canadian version which has terrible selection or is this what I can expect as the 'norm'?

The Canadian selection is worse than the US selection, but it's not all that good either, if you're looking for recent American TV and movies. The foreign horror movie selection is pretty good, though, if you're willing to dip into Korean and Japanese stuff.

Heh. Not a chance. Watched too many part-time projects fail.

His language has mellowed a little, but he still says the most batshit-crazy stuff here.

Last I knew, the BSD is GPL. And thats why Darwin is "open source" because its the part Apple legally needs to keep open. Everything else they tack on to it on the other hand isn't GPL.

So Apple is using the base engine and keeping it as open as needed, every little modification and screw change they do, they don't open up because they don't need to legal. The GPL doesn't cover that

BSD License: Do what thou wilt shall be the whole of the law.

GPL: Pay it forward.

No one wants to deal with that bullshit to get a decent looking OS. As soon as Linux starts copying Windows and MacOS, you know proven desktop interfaces, instead of this fractured scattered crap, it might be marginally successful.

But in the end, it's only a matter of time before Valve just releases some steam box that runs a closed Linux distro, completing the circle of hypocrisy.

...What bullshit? Installing an operating system and then clicking some checkboxes? Like you do for Windows? If you want something that works similarly to Windows, just download the KDE-variant of Ubuntu (Kubuntu).

I'm curious to see where it goes. For now, Linux remains too fucking ugly and user-unfriendly for me to care about it.

Linux's ugliness or lack-thereof is entirely up to you. Install the latest KDE or GNOME with compositing and outbling the blingiest MacOS POS. Or install xfce/lxde/fluxbox for something more minimalist and fast.

Not really. "PC" is kinda synonymous with a general-purpose computer. Tablets are appliances that only do exactly what the manufacturer wants them to do.

GTFO MS if there's even a slight possibility, you'll ruin it.

I don't even like having to use Silverlight, tho it works just fine.

I will drop it the instant MS purchases it, if that happens.

So they could do WWE/Firefly crossovers?

Turn it into a monster movie?

Pee on its corpse and desecrate its grave?

Racing games are a genre that I dont think I'm going to get behind for any kickstarters, as my favorite elements usually involve a rock solid physics engine and realistic/destructible environments & vehicles. Both of these things are pretty much non-existent or poorly slapped together in the lower budget racers..

Heck one of the only reasons I play GTA4 anymore is to enjoy multiplayer races with friends, which are still a blast.

But for a kickstarter I'm gonna have to wait to see the finished product before jumping on any racing titles.

Man. If there's one thing you can say about GTA4, it's that it has a rock-solid physics engine. Confused

WTF is wrong with people. The game looks great as-is.

I find it... incredibly hard to pick out background from not-background with everything looking smudgy and gray. I guess that's the point, but it makes the game unfun.

Windows 8 is the new XP.

Hideous and offering nothing useful over the previous iteration (Windows 7 and Windows 2000, respectively)? Why, yes. I completely agree.
