News Comments > WildStar Open Beta This Week
4. Re: WildStar Open Beta This Week May 6, 2014, 20:13 natx

the whole time I was playing wildstar I had to keep asking myself -- 'am i having fun?' re: wow in space -- not really much space element either. very cartoony vibrant color places..doesn't feel sci fi at all to me. feels more fantasy. only 4 classes, horrible user interface. typical cookie cutter mmo stuff.

I preordered and paid for a one year subscription.

then I started playing swgemu 2 weeks ago. I rediscovered it so to speek. hadn't played it for 4 years when it was just a zone. they have probably 90% of the game done now. I am an old SWG player and I am really happy with how far along the emu has come. I am enjoying swgemu so much that I haven't bothered to play in any of the beta weekend for the past 3 weeks. I'm going to keep playing swgemu.

needless to say, canceled my subscription. don't have any desire to play wildstar whatsoever.

i'm not trying to encourage anyone. ironically, i would be happy if the mmo fotm crew steers clear of this one. someone called the devs ignorant for having permadeath and i was simply responding to that comment.

nobody is forcing you to play. go play your "popular" games with the rest of the sheeple.

i'll never forget the name Smedly, the person who ruined star wars galaxies.

because of smedley i refuse to ever play a SOE title again.

Actually they vastly improved performance in warhammer in the 1.3.2 patch. Perhaps they solicited help from the WOW devs

If its too dark turn the brightness up!

i'm happy they are merging, more people for me to kill. I have a good time with this game even though 99% of my guildmates moved to the next MMO of the month.

Many of the playerbase have been asking for merges due to low population counts

as for why they added so many people after launch, i blame the MMO FOTM community on that. You know, the poeple who get in on beta and pre-order, then become disinterested, bitch and complain about the game in game chat and ultimately move on to the next great (or not so great MMO). Darkfall, AoC, Aion anyone? Didn't think so.

including its unique and realistic leveling system which allows players to grow stronger and better as they continue through the game

nice, so you can get roided up like they do in the real big leagues?

News Comments > Atlantica Online Open Beta
1. this is a fun game Sep 24, 2008, 19:37 natx

this is a good game and highly underrated in my opinion

it has a ton of unique mmorpg features i've not yet seen from the EQ clones that dominate the markets

however i'm playing warhammer now so not sure i'll keep playing atlantica hehe

"There is nothing technologically keeping us from making it so."

AKA - the game hasn't been written so their is nothing keeping them from making it that way. Like someone else said don't believe the hype.

Once they realize the can of worms they opened it will be shelved.

Worst. News. Evar!!!!

Guess I'll keep playing vanguard another 4 months. But vanguard's new raid content is pretty kickass anyways and I'm having a blast.

I played beta. the best thing about the few hours I played was the music, if that tells you anything. the game did not have enough lure for me to have me drop playing other games like bf2 and vanguard. a good MMO should do that.

the game totally locks up on me after 30-45 minutes of playing. i can't even alt tab out or get into taskmgr to kill the process, i have to reboot. bad coding? i can see why the beta people said it wasn't ready.

i have seriously choppy frame rates when there are a lot of mobs or buildings, i already turned down a bunch of graphics options.

BUT, I find the game is pretty fun and it is great being in a MMO at launch. This game might tide me over until conan or star trek online.

the screens look beautiful but i just can't play a game run by SOE. how do I know this game won't have an NGE that ruins it?

6. I'd buy it if..... Nov 14, 2006, 14:34 natx

It included the ORIGINAL game and a PRE-CU server

that being said, I'll never buy another SOE or Lucasarts game ever again because of what they did to SWG.

News Comments > Sony and Virtual Sales
15. Re: regardless Apr 21, 2005, 17:20 natx

They actually did their homework and consulted with their lawyers about the liability:

Will I now own EverQuest II characters, items and/or coin?

No. The User Agreement and Software License, to which you agreed when you installed the game and to which you agree every time you launch the game, makes it clear that you have no ownership rights in characters, items and coin -- what you have is the right to use them in accordance with the license agreement, the rules of conduct of the game, and SOE's terms of service. When SOE launches Station Exchange, SOE will permit you to "sell" and "buy" that right to use characters, items and coin. In "lawyerese," you will be buying and/or selling a limited license right, not an ownership right.

So before you guys all get your panties in a bunch and spreading rumours try reading the post from sony.

"In addition to the issues listed above, you may ask, "What about farming?" The simple answer to this is that we're going to continue to heavily enforce the rules of EQ II, and those rules don't permit players to monopolize spawns or in any way harm the play experience of another player. We will continue to enforce these rules, but we also think that by providing a legitimate way for players to buy and sell the use of virtual goods, there will be fewer problems on the non-Exchange servers."

Additionally all the uber spawns are already camped as it is.

The items and coin are still the property of sony. So you can't sue them for loosing items, it's still sony's property.
