Wow - didn't see that one coming! Anyway, whilst the game is not the classic some believed it could be, I enjoyed playing it and I'm pleased that it's available to play for an hour. www.strategyplanet.com/republic has a load of info if you are stuck on it. Evil Genius is a great improvement and I play that loads. The team at Elixir obviously is very talented and I'm looking forward to what comes next.

Sorry but the way "Rambo" (Dirk Masters) holds his rifles is the most awesome way. Respect

Takes a simple tag or a red alert beacon to kill those pesky agents

For those who don't know, there WILL be a demo (rather cool one - I tested the game for three months) which should be out within weeks. Load of info and news at www.evilplanet.com (sorry to spam the link).

Anyone going to E3 you ask (#38)?

I have been offered tickets both by Gamespy (I have a hosted site) and by Elixir Studios (developers of Republic: the Revolution and Evil Genius, both of which I have fansites for). But being in the UK made it just a teency bit difficult

I've been following all of Elixir's games, including the new one, Blue Vault. If you would like information about the game plus a couple of screenshots I got directly from Elixir, check out a mini-preview I did of the game a while ago: http://www.strategyplanet.com/evilgenius/Developers/BlueVault.asp

Actually, I'm with the guys who own the site. I have done several fansites over the last few years, and I have been very very lucky. I made sites for games by Elixir Studios, and even this very small company has someone who I can speak to regularly and get an answer from at any time. They are currently linking to both of my websites from their front page, they have asked me down to visit them several times, play test the game and go to press events.

Now I'm not suggesting that id should invite every fansite to their HQ of course, but a little more appreciation goes down so well.

"This game has not yet been rated"

Could the guy who did this voice-over sound any more bored?

I actually quite like Gamespy. They have a decent system with FilePlanet, and it ain't too expensive.

Pity about the delay.

Is my Radien 9600 really so out of date that games like this won't play at all...?

Well - I have the game. I've had a website about Republic for the past 2.5 years so Eidos were kind enough to pass me a copy of the finished version to review and take screenshots from. Hope this doesn't constitute spamming, but if you are interested then check out my site ( www.strategyplanet.com/republic ) and the forums for regular updates and so on.

A quick game review: great fun, massive, but complex... and because I have yet to recieve a manual, this is making playing the game fairly difficult

I got that "feeling" about this game

Anyway, having seen the game for myself when I visited Elixir, and having chatted with Demis Hassabis over lunch about it, I can confidently say it's gonna be good.

But not flawless.

We could, of course, actually wait and see the game itself before making assumptions...

Can't disagree. Rather overlooked at the moment by most people, but it's gonna kick ass when it is released. www.strategyplanet.com/republic for more info.

Computer And Video Games. Whata crappy site. They are very very good at posting rumours - for example they went and said that Microsoft had pulled some funding for an X Box version of Republic the Revolution that hasn't even been announced yet...

I hope this is another rumour.

Yuo know, I wasn't too thrilled about having the big shoot out in the church in Mafia, as I'm a Christian. But I just got on with it, I didn't let it bother me, and I finished that section as quickly as possible.

I didn't start a campaign group to ban that level from the game!
