| The quote is disingenuous. Very basic functionality is tested in Q&A and the very basics don't work right. Unless the chance of these things happpening is so low, they had to know about it. But at least now they are making ammends so they will be foregiven by me at least. |

Do you feel the love from the devs. It feels more warm than the love from Valve even.
But still they should not have released the game in such a state but at least they are trying to make ammends. |

The game is broken, especially the multiplayer. Single player stutters even on much faster rigs than the requirements stated. They have acknolwedged this and it's a priority to fix in the patches. Yesterday's patch helped and reading the steam forums, an official rep says that they will be releasing another patch today. The game was clearly released too early but they are doing a fantastic job communicating the problems and letting people know about the solutions. Read the official magicka steam forums for details.
This game will be really good when they patch it up and I have no doubt they will based on their communications on the steam forums. |

ou're probably right. In any case, I picked it up on Steam. Played the first couple levels, really fun game. Doesn't seem very optimized though, runs a bit clunky and I've got a relatively high end gaming PC. Hopefully after some patches things clean up, but it's certainly an innovative game. I have everything set to high and I have a high end PC and yet when moving around the scrolling of the environment is chunky like I'm getting low fps. |

This will give a precedent to dev to stop making proper demos and force everybody pay money for this. I think for multiplatform games, that ship has sailed and it's already happening.
I don't see many publishers agreeing to this, just the most financially hurting ones. |

So the new pattern for gaming is such:
Release the game at full price.
Wait a few months and then here come the digital discounts.
Wait a little bit longer for DLC inside a special edition of the game at full price.
Remove DRM years later, and sell the game at a small price.
Looks like games these days can now extend their revenue generation by removing the DRM.

CliffyB's comments will not endear him to PC Gamers. His comments are a bit condescending. And the game will be pirated demo or no demo if that's even a factor why there will be no PC demo. It's just strange and ironic that comments by CliffyB and others like Mark Rein seem to suggest that these guys forgot the history of Epic.

| I'm not a conspiracy monger but it's never a positive sign when there is no PC demo. But on the other hand it doesn't mean that it's a negative sign either. |
