News Comments > Ships Ahoy - Dungeon Siege III, PC Control Fixes Planned

Once again as a PC gamer, I am made to feel like a second class citizen.

If you plan on a multiplatform release (including PC), please fucking spend the extra time making sure the fucking basic control configuration works on PC. I know sometimes you don't have time\budget to do this. At least these guys say they will add better key support on the PC in a patch.

Would a developer release a multiplatform title and have poor gamepad support on the consoles? I would like to see that happen.

Bottom line, stop forcing console limitations on the PC.

You guys are making a thinking mistake. You are making the "all or nothing" fallacy. Just because PB cannot stop EVERY cheat does not mean it does not stop any cheat. It raises the bar and that automatically means less cheating.

I'm not saying anything about PB's ability or inability to effectively stop cheating in games where it is employed. I'm saying PB is a piece of shit app because in the last handful of games I've attempted to play which included PB, PB directly prevented me from playing the game at all at one point or intermittently. AFAIK I still can't play Bad Company 2 because PB booted me from almost every game after less than five minutes of play.
Since computers are deterministic machines, there are reasons why this is happening to you. It's not magic and you should look into them.

I bought an xbox 360 wired controller for my PC so I could play Batman Arkham Asylum. By far the best console port I have played.

A friend of mine (used to be a pro Quake gamer) uses a wireless mouse when he messes around at home. At tournaments he always insisted on cord based mice though for one simple reason.

Wi-Fi doesnt really have that much input lag, like someone said its barely noticable even in pro gaming. Where it fails though is in prolonged camping instances where there is a slight "packetloss". The mouse goes into a sort of standby mode if its not moved around for some time and that certainly is noticable when the action picks up again. Also random wifi interference, signal loss, etc. all of these things are possible (although rare) and in tournament situations when they happen its usually at the worst possible moment in critical situations.

Tournament ya, Teh best gaming mice are wired, Jeryyk lives in his moms basement, He is No pro player, he is just eleetist prick that thinks he knows everything about gaming. And by the way, true gaming mice the HAPPEN to be wirless, do not have the Shut down (camp) mode in which you speak of. As far as a console in 2011 made for Big screens made for couches, A wireless controller is just fucking fine. And tools here think its hard to recharge?First of all if you are console gaming more then 6 hours at a time, you need to re-evaluate your life. Second, Recharge while you sleep, easy!
Ad hominem.

Why wouldn't "strong factions" want to re-release the games on the new tech? It brings in the money, which is why everyone does it.

Microsoft pays developers to use GFWL and also helps them implement into a game.

In any case, whatever implemented let us turn it off and on and there shall be no problems.

STFU with the conspiracies. Don't you understand that conspiracies have a higher burden of proof because of their implausibility than non conspiracies?

This applies to all conspiracies. Claiming a conspiracy requires far more proof than a mundane much simpler non conspiratorial explanation.

Sell content from within itself rule is weird because games that used gfwl but were sold on steam such as dow2, they allowed content to be sold from within game yet they were never pulled from steam.
They could have changed the rules recently and applied non retroactively possibly.

So we have a PR guy who said somnething that confirms what others have speculated on for a while. Games don't come free to those that upset people with their reviews.

Duke Nukem Forever is mediocre when compared to pretty much every first person shooter released in the last 5 years and PR spin is going to change that.

In fairness, shooting a girl and making an abortion joke isn't going to go over well with anyone anywhere.

Let me quote the Seinfeld Chicken Roaster episode"

Seth: That's not going to be good for business.
Jerry: That's not going to be good for anybody
I loved that episode!

Quick damage control.
This is sad. Another example where social media gets you in trouble. When you make a comment, someone somewhere can make a copy no matter how fast you take it down.

Trying to determine the quality of Duke Nukem Forever is like trying to determine the intelligence of a retarded child. I don't know how to come up with a score. I played for about 5 hours last night and had many negative feelings about things in the game, yet still somehow managed to have fun.
You give the supsected retarded child the same test you would give to someone who you suspect of not being retarded. Sheesh. You can say what you want because it's a free country but it's not cool to make your point with such comments. You can't fault someone for the way they were born, they had no say in it. They had no choice.

Apart from the dated visuals it really isn't better or worse than the pointless Medal of Dutyfield games (in singleplayer).

I love some of the comments that have been said about "If you don't like this game, you're clearly not old school", when Duke suddenly has a weapon limit and regenning health...

Don't forget the lack of secret areas.

News Comments > Crysis 2 Steam Crisis, Origin Exclusivity Planned?
115. Re: Crysis 2 Steam Crisis, Origin Exclusivity Planned? Jun 15, 2011, 13:42 Overon

Some of you think that origins is competing with steam and that's good. But sorry to inform you, exclusivity is not competition. Competition is when everyone is selling the same or similar product. This is not the case. Competition is good for the consumer. This is not.

When steam has exclusive titles, that's not good for the consumer either. So I'm not being hypocritical here.

Death to exclusivity in digital distribution!
