Mark my words. This games servers will be dead empty in a couple months.

Its F2P, therefore it can't die. They might not make any money on it and decide to pull the plug. That could happen.

Someone mentioned cheat hacks becoming an issue. This could drive people away to some extent but it'd have to become a very large problem.

I played the beta and had some fun. Then I stopped playing. The endless base capture merry-go-round lost its appeal.

I play hours upon hours per day. Am usually a top 200 Points per Day player. I have not seen 1 hacker. Whoever said there were "Tons of hackers killing the game" is entirely full of shit.

This isn't to say there aren't trolls who like to be douches in the warpgate with Galaxy's and try to flip other people over. But that happens in any F2P game, trolls are just a given.
That's why anecdotal evidence is unreliable, both yours and his.

There is nothing quite like PS2, this is true. However even on radeon 7950's and i7 processors on 64 bit Windows 7, there are terrible FPS problems in large fights, and worse than bad fps, is horrible non registering weapons.

Right now the biggest technical problem with this game is lag and fps. When there are lot of players on screen, it's like all your shots don't register against your enemies, you have to empty whole clips into people to kill them. While in smaller battles, each shot seems to register and hit.

Windows has in the past and must remain an open platform otherwise there are anti trust issues I think.

The concerns in this article are valid, but I think perhaps certain predictions are yet unjustified.

In exchange for tax exempt status, religious bodies cannot tell their congregations who to vote for. However there have been numerous documented cases of pastors and the like, telling congregations who to vote for from their pulpit and who to vote against and how to vote on certain issues. And the IRS is afraid to touch them even though they are blatantly breaking the law because of the privileged position that religion occupies in his country. If a secular tax exempt organization would tell its members who to vote for, the IRS would have no problem taking away their tax exempt status.
Google "Pulpit Freedom Sunday."
I'm glad that the FFRF is calling attention to this issue. The FFRF enjoys the same tax exempt tax status as the religious organizations. However the FFRF is prevented from telling its members who to vote for. Which is obvious of blatant favoritism and bias for religious organizations. I am for the application of laws equally and I do not like privileged position that religious organizations have in this country that is why I love the FFRF who fight for the separation of church and state.

"Churches and religious organizations obtain a significant benefit as a result of being non-exempt from income taxation, while also being able to preferentially engage in electioneering, which is something secular tax-exempt organizations cannot do.
So you either ban electioneering for all tax exempt organizations including churches as is the law now, or you allow electioneering for all tax exempt organizations including non religious ones. You cannot have this unequal application of law as is the case now.

Yes. This is like a 40 man team developing this. I wish they still had their founder's program going but they terminated it.

The patching process over the months has been one where they fix certain bugs and introduce new ones which they hotfix. Right now there is some really irritating bugs like the turret secondary turrets on vechicles and fixed turrets on installations sensitivity is super high makes it really hard to aim. Also the medic healing device does not work half the time. But I'm sure that obvious bugs like these will be ironed out.

I pre-ordered from GMG for $48. I have enjoyed all of Arkane's games to date, this has some decent people working on it, and looks to be blending some parts from Thief and putting gthem into a steampunk-heavy version of the Half-Life world.

Truthfully, this is the game I am most looking forward to for the rest of the year and I hope it ends up being game of the year.

Otherwise...what else is there to play? Pandas? Another MoH military shooter? Another CoD military shooter? Another pointless AC release? The Doom retread? That crappy Nintendo system tablet?
The made for 'tweens FC3?
Noting most anything else I care about is pushed to 2013,
Ray
What about Planetside 2?
Or UFO: Enemy Unknown?

The demo should give you a better indication of the kinds of gameplay you have. There should be more base building ie the strategic side and less emphasis on the tactical side. This is a both a strategic and tactical game. There is the small picture as well as the big picture to the gameplay. But as someone in the comments on youtube said "Shut up and take my money." Agreed.

Demo was too damn short. It didn't give you a full taste of the entire game. Also the camera needs to be more intuitive and have more control. I had the demo freeze on the 2nd mission and had to ctrl alt del it. I like the graphics and the art direction.

I have not played Planetside 1 before, but I paid to get into the beta (alpha squad) after seeing lots of beta footage on Youtube. I have been pleasantly shocked by how forthright the developers have been with the community on their forums.

The President of Sony Online Entertainment states on the forums:
"1)We want this to be an awesome (and balanced) game.
2) We need to make money at it."
here

A developer made a long post on the forums about "pay to win":
here

Based on their willingness to communicate so clearly, I have high confidence in their ability to deliver a game that is not pay to win.

So it's not the whole game yet? Also how are the scripted sequences?

Mad Max RW, just admit you were wrong. Why is it hard for people to admit when they are wrong. I admit when I'm wrong and that teaches me not to pretend I'm more sure about something than I am justified to be based on the evidence.
