Spector made Deus Ex Inivisible war. For which he has not been forgiven. Some would be grateful that he does not have the rights to Deus Ex.
Update: I have been told that Spector didn't make Invisible War. Smith did. Then I formally rescind my comment. Spector is back to being  While Smith is now

You did read the press release right? It's instant action and there is no single player campaign in this release.

So now ridiculously positive reviews make the reviewer/magazine/website famous in addition to ridiculously negative reviews.
Let's exercise some skepticism. The hype train is pulling up to the station, all aboard.

Whenever I see a thread explode on bluesnews, it's invariably because there is some flaming.
Also what's so special about this game? 84% on metacritic for a console game one review:
"IN SHORT: Borderline brilliant at times and even a heavy weight of minor flaws can't spoil the superb co-op play.
PROS: Near infinite range of weapons and items and fun shooter gameplay. Excellent four-player co-op mode.
CONS: Little longevity for the single player. Weak AI, repetitive enemies and poor item trading amongst players."

| I hope this doesn't make them focus on consoles as opposed to PC's. I know initially that will not be the case but over time it may happen. Witcher series pc centric forever! |

In my experience the only thing I cannot do on Windows XP is play DX 10 and DX 11 games. All 8 of them. I'm not scared of new technlogy or nor am I a technology curmudgeon. But I have to have good reason to upgrade. And this game isn't a good reason. If I could get windows 7 for super cheap I would, but I would dread having to put in the time to install it fresh and then move what I have on xp and configure it the way I like it. Right now I'm not willing to invest the time. When a compelling DX 10/11 games come out, I will have no choice and it's only a matter of time before that happens.

Only reason for me to use Windows is for games. No other reason. Everything else I want to do I can do on Linux for free.
The game will be a glorified tech demo with great graphics. I'm sure they got some money from various groups to recoup the cost of development when they made it DX 10 exclusive. A company that removes such a large part of their market means that the cost of developement was recouped through deals from graphics card vendors or microsoft or the game was so cheap to produce that they will make the money back selling it to a smaller market. |
