I think readers and Fileplanet alike are confusing and mis-using the word "demo" & "beta" which leads to lots of crazy.

The OpenGL part of this driver breaks Savage. It's not unplayable until I reinstall the old drivers.

Sims 2 looks fun. I'm sure I'll play it for awhile like any other game then get bored of it in a week or two.

but...HEY WHO WANTS TO PLAY THE SIMS ONLINE!?? Huh?? HUHH???

Answer: No one. Biggest waste of money ever. Hiring Keaunueuneuneu Reeves for those TV spots really helped there Electronic Asses. I mean arts.

Computer & Videogames has to be one of the worst sites ever and I'm amazed they stay in business and keep ads coming in let alone subscriptions.

Not if you used the custom feature for OFP. You could set up some massive battles with air land sea and armor. ^^

But you usually needed some hefty processing power to get that done...

Hrmm well if you know how demo scripting / recording for other games in the past, you would know that the game records indiviual entitity / brush movements as they happen, so the soldier KICKED down door probably in HL2 when the demo was being recorded and the demo recording wrote to the disk that brush XYZ must be moved exactly XYZ at this exact XYZ time, so when the demo script hits that line it moves it wether he is alive or not. If he hadn't kicked down the door in the original I doubt it would still open. Then again, I've never played HL2 so I could be full of shit and not know, but that's my 2 cents based on working with demo recording on previous games. A good test could be to see if other things move unnaturally such as maybe those shades or other doors or what not or see if the soldiers don't follow the player and go their predetermined record path. Who knows.

I'm finding flaws with my theory as I write this so I'm gonna shut the fuck up.

Nevermind.

Besides there is so much rumor against and for VALVe that I don't care and will just play the game whenever it comes out and judge for myself instead of buying into positive/negative hype. They get a few points off for the Sept. 30th fiasco but whatever it happens. Conspiracy theories are lame too. Longest comment ever.

Wow, 3rd demo of today

JEESUS! Spooked the crap out of me. I'm way too tired for this. Creepy and made me jump, didn't notice the old graphics.

All comments aside, I don't think anyone can disagree with the fact that this game has some SERIOUSLY great audio.
The sound makes 2/3 of the gameplay. Damn!

Played the demo.

Interesting intro video, if a tad hard to understand Satan the narrator... Interesting level design. Interesting armor designs and concept of future paladins and crusades blah blah very mediocre gameplay outdated looking graphics I got bored on the DEMO level. 15 minutes I wish I had back. Oh well.

Wow!

This game is suprisingly cool. Easy learning curve, varying levels of complexity, kind of hits the Framerate hard but you can really get into this game....Maybe it's just me and I'm wierd. Reminds me of the Original Roller Coaster Tycoon just with casinos.
Not the best looking game, but with the amount of stuff on the screen at one time I can see why these aren't high poly models. ....

I'm installing it now. We'll see I guess. I'll let you know. On the bright side, it took two minutes to download at a mind boggling 887kbs.....

Edit: Cable modem that is....

5. Re: ZzzzZZzzzz Oct 14, 2003, 19:48 Ajax

All those reasons are valid reasons.........for not announcing the game is gold. If the game isn't done, don't tell people it is? Bah who knows. VALVe has lost a lot of respect in my eyes over the past few weeks with their mistakes. Maybe HL2 can fix that.

Why is there more then 30 days between the "gone gold" and the in store date? That's wierd.

I don't think it will do well, outside the hardcore CS market and the "On the fly" pick this game up for no special reason other than the box looks cool no one is interested in this piece of ancient history.
