I found the collectors edition in Gamestop for $30, and since I'm a Star Wars nut I figured why not, I played the beta and the 10 day trial but never really got into it. At the very least I'd come away with some extra Star Wars paraphenalia.
Well after inputting my CDKEY into my account I learn I can't get my free 30 days since it wasn't a new account, but one that had used the 10 day trial. They wouldn't even discuss it, might as well of told me I was shit out of luck. So they will get no more money from me.

For anyone who has downloaded this, a headsup on what the size is would be nice, thanks. The file which I would assume relates to episode 1, since it's named episode 1 shared.gcf, is about 1.08gb at 90% downloaded.
It also comes with half-life 1 deathmatch source, if you want it, and that is 400mb at 90% downloaded.
I say 90% because they both have seem to frozen there.

I'm loving all these air changes. Aircraft are damn near impossible to shoot down from the ground, hopefully this drastically changes that. I can only assume that the AA changes mean they aren't simply decoration anymore.

First problem, you cannot create characters on certain servers, like Ahazi and Bria (the heavily populated ones). I would consider that a good thing, noone likes lag, and that's all that would come from it.

and the problem of having spent all their money on just the one special effect. While your other comments might have something to them, this one falls flat. I can still watch ST today and be amazed by the quality of the special effects, and not just one, but all.

How is F.E.A.R. so drastically different? I've played both, and they each have an equal dependency on scripted events to relay story, although F.E.A.R. does have superior enemy AI.
Your chief complaint seems to be that the game doesn't live up to your expectations of what the next Quake should have been. As someone else indicated your desires for NPC interaction are way ahead of the technology.

I am very surprised with how much I'm enjoying this game. Sure it's nothing revolutionary, but it doesn't try be something it's not either. I like the fact that they didn't really go the horror route, and instead just throw enemy after enemy at you. Also the detail in the levels is amazing, I continually find myself just stopping and checking different architecture out, especially mechanical areas. Though this is all coming from someone who genuinely enjoyed Quake 2 singleplayer and still does.
