I have no complaints, except for maybe a slightly forgiving damage model, but the game is still hard, so that's allowable. Anyways, everything from the graphics to the animation to the gameplay to the gadgets to the sound is all great, and I can't believe it's only a couple of days before I can get my grubby mitts on the full game. Sweeeeeeet.

A movie ticket...a movie theater-priced chocolate bar...a movie theater-priced large coke... Mightas well save myself the trouble and buy the damn game. It'll cost less.

It sucks that you're stuck on 56k dude. I was there a matter of months ago. The Raven Shield net code isn't tuned as finely as Half-Life's or even UT2003's, so that's where you're getting problems. Even on high-speed, it lags a little every once in a while. Stick to playing Half-Life engine games or UT2003 until they fix the net performance for Raven Shield. Games are starting to cater more and more to those of us lucky enough to have broadband, so you better start considering how to afford it, or stick with those games that give you good performance over 56k.

You guys both have "dedicated server" checked. I forget exactly where the box is to uncheck it, but it's on one of a couple pages you look at when you start up a server. It IS possible to start up a LAN server and dick around by yourself.

I had the "server full" bug too, even on servers that were running at half capacity. I got sounds bugs too, but for me, after a few shots from any weapon, the sound effects for that weapon would just cut out completely, leaving me with a rather bland playing experience. The "rag doll" physics on the character models are pretty neat though. I saw a guy slide down the stairs and gradually do the splits...hilarious.

Spoiled by the Half-life engine |

I think the fact that we've all played Half-Life engine multi-player games for the past four years or so makes us spoiled. I never, ever, ever see players jumping around in the Half-Life engine due to imperfect network coding, yet in Raven Shield I see players popping around...I saw the same thing in the MoHAA: Spearhead demo. Hopefully that problem will be ironed out by the final release.
For some reason, the sound is a little messed up for me too! I tried it with and without EAX on, and I get the same problem. After a few shots, the guns stop emitting noise. I mean, I know silencers should make your weapons quiet, but I wasn't using one! I have a SB Live! 5.1. Any suggestions?

Splinter Cell Movie |

If I had dial-up, I'd be pissed off about Red Storm including a Splinter Cell movie in the demo package. It's an extra 6MB. Yes, that isn't a lot compared to a 150MB demo, but if you're downloading on dial-up, that could mean an extra hour to wait (albeit, after waiting 2 days, an extra hour won't seem like too much). Anyways, I'm just glad I have DSL, and just glad that my download's done. S'it S'all.

I'm funny, you see. I do things that contradict the point I'm making to make it clear that I am just kidding around. Now I realize that you were being funny in pointing out my capitilizations to try to make a mockery of my mockery of myself. Huh?

I'm super-pysched about NOLF2. I loved the original NOLF, but wasn't quite sure what to expect with NOLF2. The demo was amazing though. The engine is terrific, providing amazing visuals and smooth framerates. The AI is also looking topnotch. I love the way the guards go about their business (i.e. smoking cigarettes, going to the bathroom, turning lights back on, etc...). Very cool! The weapons and gadgetry are also awesome! Nothing like pinning a guy to a wall with a crossbow bolt! NOLF2 me baby!
