7. Greatest Albums Nov 23, 2003, 13:33 Tim1_2

Meh. On my list, Appetite for Destruction by Guns N' Roses would've been number one. It's the only CD that I've ever had that I actually listen to and love every song.

78. Isn't it funny... Nov 22, 2003, 12:51 Tim1_2

How some game companies get there start by making a great PC game, and then forsake the PC crowd to make games for consoles, sticking us with console ports?

One of the only companies I can think of that HASN'T done this is Valve (although I'm sure X-Box Counter-Strike didn't speed up the dev process for Half-life 2).

http://www.filefront.com/r.b/page__file_info/_filepath__/gamingfiles/Deus_Ex_2/Official_Releases/Demo/dxiw_demo.exe/_output.html

that's a long one

EDIT: Oh, and even if the demo is crappy, at least they released it at a nice time so hardcore fans can nab it late at night while regular folk sleep, and then the regs can download it in the morning when the hardcore gamers are busy shelling it on messageboards.

I downloaded it, but I ain't playing it 'till tomorrow at the earliest. I didn't like the first one, and I don't anticipate liking this one either.

I totally agree with ssh. This game felt great...really tense. The best single-player war-based FPS I've ever played (and yes, I've played MoHAA and CoD...thought they were a little bland). This game was awesome...and the tunes were great!

6. Re: Half-Life 2 Nov 21, 2003, 23:40 Tim1_2

I'll probably take some flak for this, but having played both the HL2 and Doom 3 alphas, I think Doom 3's engine looks much, much better graphically. The Source engine didn't look much better than the modern Quake 3 engine, just with pixel shading and real time shadows.

Yeah, you'll take flak because you're basing your opinions of the game engines on barely-alpha versions. Wait'll they're final builds before making opinions about the engines for cryin' out loud.

30. T3 Movie Nov 20, 2003, 16:39 Tim1_2

The Terminator 3 movie was easily the best action movie I've seen in the last two years, and it's my favourite movie of the year so far. Other highlights would be Pirates of the Carribean...and...that's it I guess. Haven't seen Kill Bill yet, but I'm sure it'd be up there too. T3 r0x0r3d my b0x0r3d.

EDIT: Oh, and I think T2 is the best pure action movie of all time.

7. Re: Successful? Nov 15, 2003, 01:37 Tim1_2

I know others disagree, but Vietcong had a wickedawesome single-player campaign. Some of the mission, especially the last one where you are defending your base, are just amazing. I'd say it's been the best FPS of the last two years, including Call of Duty, and whatever else.... Multi-player's pretty solid too.

Ok, well I have played MoH, CoD, and BF1942, and I have to say that for small-squad WW2 warfare, DoD is the shizz. Superior to all in this regard.

Yes, he's an idiot because he said a movie was too violent and then gave his voice to a violent video game. Oh, I don't know if he could be classified as a 'pacifist' by the way, just because he said a movie was too violent. I don't think he was so much a pacifist so much as he just disagreed with the tone of the movie.

I was wondering why Steam was so shitty this evening. Just a handful of DoD servers, not to mention the random kickings and such. Maybe tomorrow it'll be better....

Those are some of the most insenstive, ignorant comments I have ever read on a public messageboard. YOU should be ashamed of yourself for having such ill-conceptions about the world. People like you are the problem in today's world, not the other way around. "war solves everything". You are a warMONGER. I only hope to hell that you can eventually realize how horrible wrong you are. Go live in Iraq when the U.S. is dropping bombs on it, and tell me that war solves everything.

I would rather the government “waste” money on those people, willing to work to better them self’s then just hand out welfare and unemployment to waste of space lazy asses.

Oh dear...inner...liberal...exploding. Let's not get carried away now....

I would just like to say that vFunct makes a good point when he says "there are other ways to win things beside war." This is true. War should alwaysalwaysalways be the absolute last resort. In some cases it has been, and in those cases it's been justified. I refuse to get drawn in to another pointless debate with some NRA cardholder about which wars are not justified.

And I was failing to even consider the fact that the Canuck version of the holiday is different... sorry for correcting you.

Must...resist...making...comment...about...stereotypical...American.... Phew. Dodged that bullet.

Oh, and the term Canuck is not derogatory. But I'd prefer to call us hosers if you must. Oh, or you could just say "Canadian". I know it's a little long and the Yanks here might have problems remembering how to spell it, but for god's sake you have the longest country name in the world. U n i t e d S t a t e s o f A m e r i c a. Geeze.
