Hey Sphinxy, the link on the Star Wars: KOTOR page back to the main page is busted.

Oh, and I like how you complain about Blue not posting your review to the Simpsons Hit & Run (http://www.sphinx-sanitarium.com/simpsons/simpsons.htm).

Oh, good review of KOTOR, by the way...well written!

1. I don't know why I posted this Nov 28, 2003, 17:28 Tim1_2

Just some rambling thoughts:

So I bought Star Wars: KOTOR on eBay today. I try as much as possible to avoid buying games on eBay, because most of the time it is a form of "renting" or recycling games, which reduces the industries' revenue. Y'see, many people buy the game at retail, beat it, and then resell it on eBay. This means that one game might go through three or four people, which is kinda wrong in my opinion. That means that although the industry only realizes one purchase, in reality, the public is realizing two or three more purchases, because the game is being recycled.

I, however, am on a limited gaming budget, as many students are. I still do buy more games than I should, but I try my best to spend my money wisely. Games over $60 (Canadian) are just not an option for me. I did spend $65 + tax on Max Payne 2 (and was pissed, as I got a whopping 5-6 hours of gameplay out of it). I also spent $60 + tax on Call of Duty, which left me a little underwhelmed too, being so short and overhyped. Anyway, I really want Star Wars: KOTOR, as it's supposed to give many, many hours of gameplay, and be fantastic the whole way through. The price tag? $70 + tax in Canada. That's gonna be about $80 after tax. I can't spend that much on a game, so I turned to eBay and got the same game (apparently new in the box) for $60 Canadian total.

I most likely will not be reselling the game (as long as I don't need the cash), but I'd rather not have to take the eBay route, because I know that PC games are going through rough times revenue wise. If we want developers to continue to publish to the PC, we need to support 'em, and I'm trying the best I can.

Right on Tony. There's nothing wrong with some unrealism if it's in the name of fun. These people are probably the same people who didn't like Back to the Future because a Delorean obviously can't go fast enough to time travel, flux capacitor or not. Everyone knows you need a Porsche.

EDIT: On a side note, I watched the video and was suitable not impressed. What was so impressive about this again?

Thought of another guilty pleasure...well it's not a guilty pleasure, but we're off topic anyway:

  • When the Half-life 2 playable stolen whatever was released, I tried dearly to get it, but what's even more pathetic is that I couldn't find a reliable download source.

    36. More guilty pleasures and stuff Nov 25, 2003, 18:47 Tim1_2

But It was a guilty pleasure at 14 having tapes full (each tape held 6 hours mind you) of soft-core porn!

Ok, Enahs, so you couldn't get the good stuff when you were 14, but still, why did you need tapes and tapes of soft-core porn? Shouldn't a few minutes have been sufficient for your purposes?

I've never finished System Shock 2 or Night of the Living Dead, as they both scare the hell out of me.

nin, I feel your pain. I love horror movies, but freaky games just kill me. I couldn't play System Shock 2 at all because it scared me too much...Undying was a writeoff, and I couldn't beat Thief once I got to the part with the ghosts and zombies. It was too scary so I uninstalled it and never returned to it.

On a different note, this thread is starting to look like www.grouphug.us (our old friend).

    Oh, and another guilty pleasure:

  • I would fiddle with the camera angle in Tomb Raider to look at her chest and her rear. Angelina Jolie's way hotter though.

Before I started dating, I had a decent size collection of soft-core “porn” recorded off Showtime, Cineamax, HBO, and such other premium channels...luckily now though I have a life

Hey Enahs, why would you have soft-core porn, when you can get all the good stuff for free off the net?

    22. KKK rally and guilty pleasures... Nov 25, 2003, 15:15 Tim1_2

First of all I would like to express my displeasure at the fact that not all of the KKK members were struck by falling bullets.

Second of all, about guilty pleasures and all, I really enjoy Disney movies. Finding Nemo was awesome, and I cried the first time I saw the Lion King and Simba's dad died.

Good call on The Tragically Hip, SpamBadger. Day for Night was an awesome album, but I wouldn't expect too much Canadian content on Rolling Stones' list, even if our music is far superior to anything else offered in this world.

Did you catch the Oilers game outdoors? Not like any Canadian kid hasn't endured colder temperatures on the outdoor pond.
