News Comments > Command & Conquer 4 Announced
9. Re: C&C4 Announced Jul 9, 2009, 16:53 Zephalephelah

It's funny when you can see the maturity of gamers come out with their whiny little QQ tears about what a company wants to do with a game they'll never buy and no longer care about.

They obviously played the original or at least Red Alert, and they loved the games. But now they feel like they're all grown up, and somehow that gives them the right to complain like school girls.

Personally, I like that they are doing something most companies lack the balls to do- ending the series. This is really fantastic news and excellent marketing. It's got me interested and I haven't purchased anything C&C since Tiberium Sun (mostly because I felt cheated by little kids that didn't want a war, but merely wanted a 60 second race). I also played and enjoyed Renegade, but I don't count it as part of the storyline at all really. It was kind of the original Battlefield game. Too bad it didn't take off, because it was deliciously fun sometimes.

Anyway, I'm just saying that it's got my interest. I'd like to know why Kane's been such a jerk for the past 15 years and what this "decade-long plan" has been. Most importantly, it will be the end of the story. That makes me want to buy the game. I've seen so many stories in movies and games and such just sort of trail off because a company is sold or the last part of the franchise didn't make enough money so no more were made. Here's a chance to wrap it up and know how it ends and to be able to finally put the book down. I say Good work!!!

40. The idiocy of signing your name here Jul 6, 2009, 16:21 Zephalephelah

It's always funny when someone who thinks highly of his own intelligence attempts to establish said IQ by exclaiming some obvious book, quote, or other material that they themselves needed at some point in their lives just to live up to the status quo of their peers when it was given to them.

The point is that people like Cutter and Creston are not doing us any favors by signing their names. Everyone is well aware of who is writing what and when they wrote it. It's all very neatly portrayed at the top of each and every post and has been so since Blues News opened its forums.

The only reason that the signers bring is to signify their own dillusional self-importance. But the only actual result for the rest of us is that we see several extra lines of space taken up by people we whose opinions we generally don't hold in high regard in the first place. The conceit coupled with the waste of space (actually most everything they write is a waste of space) makes it doubly undesirable.

Although most people ignore it, understand that it is ignored in a socially respectful manner; just as a spastic man's seizures are ignored. We're all aware of the disconcerting twitch of the disabled man, but we choose to ignore it because it's the polite thing to do. However, instead of a physical disability, we are ignoring a mental disability by people who waste space on these good forums with their pathetic arrogance and vanity which results in extra lines of uselessness in an already useless post.

The fact that Cutter doesn't even comprehend the point of a signature line is simply more proof of his lack of intelligence. For if you want to use common protocol then shouldn't your signature be where it belongs in the signature line? In case you still don't get it, I'm talking about where you have put your signature reading "The Ballad of Gay Tony".

At any rate, true common protocol is to *NOT* sign your name. 99% of the people here do not sign their name, therefore defining what common is. Inotherwords, 99% of the people here are not so self-absorbed that they realize their name is already listed on the post and there's no need to be redundant about it. Isn't redundancy a no-no in your little book?

Finally, let me inform you of your real and true intelligence. Have you ever heard that saying, "You're not crazy, crazy people don't know they're crazy"? It fits for stupid too. But don't worry, I'm not going to be totally negative against you Cutter or against Creston. In fact, I wish to thank you both on behalf of the many people here such as Tango and Drayth who actually have above average IQs. You see, Cutter and Creston, for every point above 100 IQ someone has to have a point below 100 IQ. So on behalf of those of us at Blues News who have a higher than 100 IQ, we would like to personally thank you for making us look better!

I mean, who signs their name to an internet post? It's very obvious who wrote the post. There's already an indicator. But for some reason he finds himself so incredibly important that he feels the need to sign his name to the bottom of the post as well.

It makes me laugh everytime; but you know, as I laugh *AT* him.

Early on, I thought it was just because he was like 14 or something. But years later, and he's still doing it. LOL!!! Some people really *NEED* attention I guess. LMFAO!!! hahahahaha!!!! Pathetic...

1. Re: id Software Interview Jul 1, 2009, 03:18 Zephalephelah

Oh,so ID software sold out huh? I might as well start eating my babies poop and having sex with the placenta that my wife extracted. Maybe that would help me to understand WTF just happened to a group that sold out.

You know, they're going to sell this story every way to sunday about how they did this or that and it just didn't work, the recession, and blah blah their infinite efforts, blah blah blah.

PATHETIC!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

ID software was the rock of gaming. Now they too sold out. As someone else said, I guess those rockets cost a lot.

But Doom3 SUCKED anyway. These dumb jerks lost their way. Doom2 was an amazing game; and everything afterward was either tech demos or tech dramas; but nothing even came close to Doom2 at all. ANd you wuold think that the originators of the franchise would have the capability to continue the ideas. I submitted a storyline for Doom3 where the player learns that the BFG is really his family bound by body parts, that are wired to the gun with barbed wireb and that shooting the gun tightened the wires and caused pain to the dislocated body parts of his own family. They didn't buy the story; but you know what, that shit as disturbing as it sounds would have easily sold a million units. They did the same thing without my bizaare freakishness. But it cost them their entire company. If Doom3 was made the way I envisioned it; they wouldn't be selling their compay; they would be too busy dealing with the same demands that Quake 1,2,3 engines gave them. But they bitched out and timidly put out some pathetic spoof that wasn't scary at all.

Doom3 should have been reveiewed by CNN and MSNBC and every local news channel about how horrific and demonic video games could become. If you look at Doom2, there are people being sacrificed all over the place. It's insane! There's partial remains as if some demons made a sacrifice and then devoured the remains. It's horrific! But Doom3 is so timid and so pathetic; that it just comes across as a B movie. It fails at every level.

NO WONDER ID HAS SOLD ITSELF, THEY FAILED TO BE SCARY AT ALL. THEY FAILED AT EVERY TURN!! JUST TURN THE BUCK AND MAKE ANOTHER ROCKET...

PATHETIC!

Looks like the cry babies got thier way.

BTW, I use the sniper gun and no scope kills from 100ft away all the time. The Huntsman is fun as a gimmick, but you can't dodge a sniper bullet.

The ambassador too is just a gimmick. For those who have small you know...

The watches are really good and the piss is quite funny. Reminds me of Postal 2 in a way.

The Unlocks are fun for me because I refuse to get on the same bandwagon as most of you and cry like a little girl. Once I realized what the new system entailed, I decided that patience was going to be my best friend and that eventually I'd get the things I want.

So after getting a 2nd force of Nature, 2 sandviches, and the Sandman again; I got the Ambassador, Huntsman, and Cloak & Dagger. While the new toys are interesting, they aren't really all that much better; except for the Cloak & Dagger watch which is really fun. But the game was fun without them before and instead of crying and wanting so much, I just played whatever class I wanted and eventually I got stuff. Not a big deal really.

As overon pointed out in his well-written post, it is a good system for the new players. Valve is interested in making money, so more new players is a good thing for their free weekends, etc.

But you know, whenever I got something new I felt really good about it. Sometimes wanting something and having to wait pays off. If you get everything you want, then I don't see that as entertaining. For me, just thinking about the Summertime when it's been cold all winter long is part of the fun of summer. The anticipation of it is half the fun. This is no different. Speaking of summer, it's nice out; bye

Please, do continue. You make me laugh, laugh, laugh.

LOL!!! That Caveman is one funny buttercup. I mean, he keeps arguing with Kosumo who keeps on suggesting that he can either accept the game or leave the game; but caveman keeps acting butthurt with his QQ, and practically ready to rage quit.

Tell you what caveman, I don't think Valve cares. I don't think the players care (except other butthurt QQ rage-quitters). And it's plain that Kosumo doesn't care. The point that you're missing is that if you keep playing, you'll get your little bitty new toys to play with eventually. Valve didn't have to make a jar of piss or a bow and arrow for you to play with; but they did and they continue to support and add content to this fine game.

If you want to blame someone, blame those jerks that made the achievement servers and the people that use them. But crying like a little girl here isn't going to change the game. Go make a petition or something. At least then, you'll be talking to other whiners that want to complain about it too.

Or continue to cry your QQ here. I know I can use the laughter. I read your posts and I just laugh and laugh. It's not that I'm laughing with you, I'm laughing at you!!!

Okay Verno, I see your point about you not wall-hacking. I realize that you merely view this matter differently than I do.

Also, I really appreciate you not coming up with some retaliation about my beliefs. So I won't go any further with it and I've decided to also bend & not bash you for "exploiting" when all you want to do is get it out of the way. I understood before, but you kind of came across as bashing it over other people's heads a bit. Still, I will agree that as long as you aren't downloading hax it's not really a big deal.

No, I just hack through the parts that are obvious life wasters.

Or, more likely, you're just not good enough to deal with other players that have the unlockables when you don't so you hax your way through them. I'm quite certain that should you find a way to get the new unlockables in some way that is cheating, that you'll do it in a second. At any rate, the entire game is a life-waster if you really think about it. Which I don't mind really, seeing how horrible people are to eachother in this life. At any rate, you can continue your feeble attempts to rationalize the fact that you use exploits all you want. The fact remains that you do.

As far as the prayer, it's so ubiquitous that it's no longer really a Christian prayer at all, but more like an internationally known quote of great wisdom. I'm sure you'll see it again in life.

Regarding hell, it's my belief that hell is an eternal fire, but that those thrown into it are burned for a period of time based on their sin. This would mean that really cruel people in history like Saloth Sar and Attila the Hun would burn for a longer time than say, your dad. There won't be any partying or "seeing anyone anywhere". Go to a burn ward sometime, they will tell you that during the fire they didn't care about anything at all except their pain. For me, hell is a place of purging. It's the penalty, the punishment, the 2nd death, for all the things you did in this life that were wrong.

Alternatively, heaven will be a place of wonder, not just singing Kumbaya My Lord next to some Cupid with a harp. But instead we can explore the entire universe travelling at the SPEED OF THOUGHT, inotherwords teleportation. Want to check out the Pillars of Creation that made the Hubble Space Telescope's repair work famous? Just think about being there and in an instant, you are. But best of all, you can see God and His Son and the angels and everyone that ever believed, like family members and friends. There will be no more pain, no hunger, no tears. And we will be eternal creatures like the angels, and all the evil in the universe will be removed once and for all, and we will live extremely interesting lives and never become bored even after 100 Billion Trillion years.

Why would you want to dump on such a hope of another human being, because clearly you know how terrible this world is and how horrible we are to eachother. You've listened to and enjoyed Nine Inch Nails, possibly because they reflect pain in your own life that you've felt. I know that's why I liked them and I still do. I'm not suddenly perfect because I'm a Christian, only my soul is made perfect. This body is still the same, and contains those same pains and heartaches as everyone else. The difference is that I have a hope that after my body starts to fall apart and I get diseases and disorders, my eyesight gets worse, and I can break my hip just from falling down, that there's still hope at the end of all the pain and suffering after growing old.

I really don't understand why you or anyone else would want to rain on that hope- Except, that it be the truth. My belief system cannot hurt you, does not impact you, and I generally try to live a cleaner, better life because of it. Oh, I know that not all "Christians" do this; but most do. So why would you attack it? I think that the mere fact that you do attack it gives it more validity.

I don't care if you got a sense of achievement, my sense of achievement comes from playing the damned game.

So does mine. Except, I actually play the game, you just hax through parts you don't like.

People like you think they're some morally superior creature because they spent 20 hours grinding unlocks while I was happily enjoying everything the game had to offer. And note I'm referring to unlocks here, not all achievements. Some achievements are fun and genuinely enjoyable to obtain. Most unlocks are pure shit though and a lot of them screw up game balance.

I'm gonna play the game for 20 more hours anyway. I don't think it screws up game balance at all when someone is going after their achievements. If anything it adds even more of that human element that is missing from bots with our unpredictability. When someone is doing something that's just completely odd and such, the other team might be wondering what in the hell is going on; especially when its a good player doing it.

I'll grant you that for the first week that too many people are doing it, but it is a phase that quickly fades.

Exactly, I don't want to play nothing but a Pyro for the entire weekend to earn his unlocks or so on.

Then don't. LOL!!!

I play whatever I want whenever I want. Eventually I'll get the unlocks by achievements or by the new system. Why is it such a big deal? It's their game, it's their rules; either deal with it or move on to something else. Complaining just makes you look like a Rage Quitting QQ doll.

Live the prayer of serenity and you'll enjoy life a whole lot more.
"God grant me the grace to accept the things I can't change, the strength to change what I can change, and the wisdom to know the difference."

Using this in my life enables me to see changes like this to my favorite games and think about not liking it for a few moments, then to smile, shrug, and move on.

I always just cheat that shit.

No, you cheat yourself. Ask just about anyone who has done it the right way, and they will tell you that they actually got a sense of accomplishment each and everytime they got an achievement.

I'm almost 100% willing to bet that you've used hacks in games too. People like you think you're having fun or beating a system, but the only person you're cheating is yourself.

I just gotta say that all this whining has really made me laugh tonight. Thank you guys! LOL!!

Look, in Monopoly you get $200 for passing GO. You're gonna get it eventually, so why should the bank hold out on you until you do? LOL!!!

As far as servers not working, its because they need to reboot so they're on the same build. Duh!

ANyway, it's Valve's game. They can do whatever they want with it. We all should have known it was headed this direction when the 1st unlockables had things written like "Level 10" in them.

Personally, I love that a game that's been out for years is still getting developer attention. This way, I don't grow bored, and I have stuff to look forward to, like the Soldier update.

But the bottom-line is that I really just get a giggle from reading your rants. You can't change a damned thing about it. Why do you fight what you cannot change? If you accept this, then it's all good, right? That's my view of it. And you know what, I'm gonna be a far happier TF2 player because of it.

My favorite complaint of all was Creston (still signing his name like he's writing us love letters). I just got such a giggle from his post that he went out of his way to bring his laptop to his friend's super connection and Valve said "DENIED". LOLOLOL!!! And he got all Rage Quit QQ about it. You know what I did? I started the slow update, then did something else and checked it every hour or so. It got done eventually. LOL!!! You guys really crack me up.
