who isn't a money hungry wolf? If I offered you 1 billion dollars for your cheese burger would you do it?

Yup, you're a money hungry wolf. you just confirmed it.

This is the worst food-based analogy I've seen on a video game forum in a long time, which is saying a lot when consider how many food-based analogies you come across on a typical video game forum.

Why would Gabe sell the second most profitable PC developer when he's already a billionaire?

Why are we arguing about a series that wasn't very good to begin with? There are plenty of platformers from that era that deserve much more praise than Tomb Raider.

News Comments > Mists of Pandaria Sales Disappointing?
56. Re: Mists of Pandaria Sales Disappointing? Sep 28, 2012, 10:51 Smellfinger

These sales figures are only unimpressive if you view them through the lens of a stock market analyst who deems anything other than endless growth to be underwhelming. I don't think anyone else is surprised that WoW isn't pulling the numbers it did 5+ years ago, least of all Blizzard. It's pretty obvious that they scaled things back in MoP in preparation for the decrease in demand.

Valve has to force Linux on developers by releasing a Linux-powered console/Steam box to go along with their Linux Steam client if they want to take a stand against Windows 8. That's the only way we'll see widespread developer support for Linux.

Bioware has made a career out of dumbing down the CRPG formula. I'm amazed at how long it took diehard PC gamers to figure this out.

The FBI was using informants to infiltrate the mafia (Donny Brasco, anyone?) and white nationalist organizations like the KKK and Aryan Nations long before they started targeting muslims. It was a decent article until they threw in that red herring.

I don't understand why people think closing their WoW account to play a new MMO is a revolutionary act. I guess the new Skinner box is always better than the old one.

The only tragic thing is that there's now families who are in dire straits and are not to be blamed for this mess.

I feel no sympathy for someone who can't hack it in the entertainment industry and goes on the dole because they can't do anything practical. The American economic toilet is clogged with computer jockeys who produce nothing of intrinsic value. Hopefully a percentage of the ones who lose work in the decaying video game industry become productive members of society by taking up a trade or going back to college to become something useful like an engineer.

The fact that a shitty developer doesn't exist anymore is a net positive. The only thing tragic about this situation is that public funds were wasted.

AngelicPenguin is a contrarian. He probably never takes a stance on an issue until he knows the general consensus so he can feel 'special' by taking the unpopular position. This is a debilitating psychological malady that's caused by too much arguing on the internet.

Nintendo is well past their prime. Gunpei Yokoi is dead and Miyamoto hasn't gotten his hands dirty since Mario 64. He's basically retired but the execs won't let him admit it in public for fear of what it will do to the brand. He had to backpeddle after he let it slip in a Brazilian interview because of the shitstorm it caused. I'm sure the next Wii will be a commercial success but Nintendo's visionary spirit is gone for the most part.

I'm surprised this doesn't happen more often with the 'caliber' of that community.

It's a shame that MOBAs attract the worst specimens of humanity. 'RTS - base building + non-stop combat' is a really fun formula.

Yeah except the fob isn't a dongle. Different hardware

The end result is the same if RMHA is one of the reasons you purchased the game. Unless you have it, you're walled off from a major feature.

and plenty of people who've been playing WoW already have one. Why have two?

Classic logical fallacy.

At that, they sell them at cost. And you pay shipping so, what's the problem again?

The problem is that it wasn't a requirement until after the game was released and millions of people bought the game with the assumption that RMAH would be a baseline feature.

Sticking to the original story here for a second, requiring an authenticator for RMAH/bnet account should have been in from the start.

If Blizzard wants to add a dongle requirement to Diablo 3, they should include it in the box like every other product that uses this form of authentication.

The public is literally beta testing Inferno. Most of the people who have finished Inferno were only able to do so because they farmed resplendent chests in now hotfixed areas. It is extremely difficult to do so legitimately, bordering on absurdity at times in Act 2/3.

Blizzard will end up nerfing it until every mouth breather with calloused knuckles can finish it by holding the mouse button down with their drool-covered chin.

Yes, lets argue about the intention of a sentence rather than having a discussion about the authenticator requirement and how Blizzard can change the EULA whenever it benefits them.

Sorry, but that is kind of BS. Everyone knew Hitler was up to no good. Hate speech and antisemitism were the wares of his public addresses. Ford does not get a pass for ignorance.

None of his early speeches were anti-semitic per se. He blamed international finance for Germany's woes.

You have to remember that Hitler was Time Magazine's man of the year in 1938 because of how he brought Germany back from the worst depression of the 20th Century. It was a miraculous transformation and it's only natural that entrepreneurs like Ford were impressed by that.
