News Comments > Warlords IV Preview

I don't know. This looks disappointing. I really liked warlords 3, years ago.
I don't find the presentation of the new one attractive. It no longer looks as simple and clean as the old one, with abstract iconic combat:

I think if a company doesn't have the resources to present state of the art visuals then it should at least try to emphasize simplicity and a unified style / art direction instead. The new screenshots are an example for exactly the opposite.

What is so funny about that? That is the proper term:

My point exactly. Making action games out of StarTrek, while possibly fun, makes as much sense as writing novels based on Doom. (On second thought, many of you probably read things like that. Never mind.)

>I'm expecting Deus Ex 2 to be God too, and I agree with the equation.

If you are refering to this:

>> Warren Spector + Ion Storm > id + ritual + raven x 100

It is an inequality, rather than an equation.

If this is the same demo I found on the PCGames magazine CD last week, then yes, it does have a bombing run in the Allies mission.

Yes, I was blown away -- so was my frame rate! :-)

( Whoever is considering C&C Generals should check out this demo before going for that game. Now that Generals doesn't have the story element / FMVs that C&C games used to have, the two games will primarily compete in terms of visuals and gameplay. And I think this game may turn out to be a better investment.)

It gets weirder:
In a paint program, connect the two squares (A and B) with a relatively thin brushstroke of the same uniform color. Your brain will interpret this as a gradient as it tries to reconcile it with its belief that the two terminal squares are very different.

Actually, one could play UT2003 at the ECTS London a few weeks ago at both the Intel and nVidia stands.

I still prefer Q3A simply because the player movement speed in Unreal is a bit too fast for my taste -- do I just have this subjective feeling or are they really faster?

Of course the animation of the players' legs have no relation to the actual locomotion in either game. :-/
