I decided to pre-order this game the other day because I like the whole pirates theme and have been looking forward to it since they announced it. Well, I finally was able to download and install the game on January 7, 2008. After playing for a few hours I found myself disappointed, but continued playing on. It appears as if the walking around aspect of this game was developed only a few months ago...it feels VERY unpolished. This is something a college student would display as his final presentation, not something a gaming studio would come out with.
This ship combat on the other hand was interesting and fun at the same time. Sure it may be slow, but it's supposed to be. I enjoyed the pace of my battles and my overall experience with the open seas was a good one. Even though I haven't played this game that much because of work and college, I can tell that it will most likely be the same as I progress in levels.
In the end, I believe I will just cancel my pre-order and just save my money for something else. For the record, I've played almost every MMO since UO (even WWII Online) and unfortunately, this game just doesn't capture my attention early on, which is scary. I'll see how this game is about 6 months to a year after launch.

I would to clarify something about my post. I have a lot of MMORPG experience and know what I am talking about. If I cancel a preorder, there is a good reason behind it, trust me. I played Everquest for 4 years, played DAOC, AO, AC, and even WWII Online. I posted my opinion to hopefully inform other players out there that they should save their money or they're going to be severely disappointed. Good luck!

Woohoo, I went and cancelled my SWG preorder today. The people there were like "why do you wanna cancel?" My response? "I'm not gonna pay $15 for an open beta test. I'm glad I got into beta, saved me lots and lots of money. Maybe I'll try it after the space expansion, but even then, it's probably not gonna be as good as other SW flight sims.

I have only a
PIII 933mhz
512MB RAM
ATI RADEON 9700
Graphics on full and the game runs smooth. At least 40fps+ average. (FULL AA and AF).
I guess it all depends on what video card you use bro
*EDIT* Also got Bellsouth ADSL.

Blizzard under Microsoft? I see that happening. Since Microsoft is having problems selling the XBox, having Blizzard will certainly draw the PC crowd to Bill Gates' beloved machine, increasing sales tremendously. If I was him, I'd offer to buy Blizzard from Vivendi and have World of Warcraft an XBox exclusive. Cha-Ching. I wish this doesn't happen, even though I got an XBox. Some games were meant to be on a PC only ;P.
