So how is the combat? Does it feel fun? That was the thing I disliked most about Morrowind. I thought the combat was boring. I found myself running away just because I was bored.

I lived in Seguin for four and half years. I never saw any flying cows.

Actually, Harry Turtledove has written a series of novels about an alternate history wherein that is exactly what Utah attempts to do, secede from the union. Their rebellion is put down quite brutally in the books.

"Hundreds of thousands of dollars"?

That sounds like a bit of an exaggeration to me. What the hell would a teenager do with hundreds of thousands of dollars? Buy a house?

Sam Fisher a double agent? That seems really out of character to me. In the first three games they built him up to be about as patriotic as Captain America.

Yes, it is nice to see that not all these corporate property holders are so legally aggressive towards their fanbase.

Yeah, I like the concept too. I wish it was a regular RTS, though. I don't care for the turn-based wargame type of design.

8. Real Life Adapts Marvel Comic's Rogue Nov 29, 2005, 10:05 Bill Borre

Talk about life imitating art. I guess that it is true that comic books have attained the status of art, or we're going to have to amend the saying to include that life imitates comic books as well. That tragic story of the young couple's kiss of death is just like Marvel's Rogue, but for the sexes being reversed.

News Comments > German Violent Gaming Legislation
7. Re: Games don't kill people Nov 18, 2005, 12:19 Bill Borre

It is kinda funny to see this legislation stemming from Germany as their game releases are so cleaned up as it is. I spent a couple of weeks at Activision playtesting the German gamecube version of True Crime 2 and you'd be amazed out how much work they put people through, going through every single texture in the game to eliminate any blood whatsoever. Even if it is just a patch of blood on the pants of a corpse, it has to be submitted to the database to be removed. Looking over at someone else's monitor, who is playing a non-German version of the game, it is a totally different playing experience.

I would think that if the original publisher, in this case Activision, is handing the title off to another publisher, that would be a pretty clear indication that they do not expect it to sell well.

Activision did not acquire the publishing rights to the MMORPG. Microsoft did.

Put me down as another person with a story like nin's, Blue. I worked with a woman who had the surgery done, both she and her husband had it done, and she couldn't say enough wonderful things about it and definitely recommended it to me to get rid of my glasses. But, like you Blue, I'm still wearing the glasses.

AS beat me to it. I'd guess that GW is doing ok from the bean-counter's standpoint. Hopefully, the new Sony game will be better than GW. I like GW more than EQ2 or WOW, but I think GW's combat system is pretty weak as the game is very easy to play with other people, just click-click-click over and over, so I hope Sony's new game will have a better combat system. Also, I'd prefer a more immersive, story-telling environment. The writing isn't bad in GW, but the voice-overs arn't convincing and if Sony's new game was like a mix between GW and the excellent writing of Morrowind, I think I'd really enjoy it.

Sad to see him reduced to hawking games. I really enjoyed "Halloween" and "The Fog" when I was a kid.
