The first words to cross my mind when I read that article were 'marketing stunt'.

The only rebate I've ever had refused was on PNY memory. They told me that the offer had expired at the time I had made my purchase, which was strange, as I doubt I would have bothered to fill out the paperwork and send it in if the date on the sales receipt was outside the offer terms.

Have any of you guys ever read Weis & Hickman's Dragonlance Chronicles? I always thought that would have made a better movie than LotR if they threw the same amount of money at it for the same reasons you're mentioning. The writing style is contemporary and the character interactions are more sophisticated. I mean, you've got an undead love triangle! How cool is that?

The community should have a contest as to which team can bang out those 18 maps based on the plot descriptions in the smallest fraction of the time that 3DR spent.

I had constant random lock ups with Windows 32 bit. It's too bad, because the game was fun, but I eventually just gave up on it because of the lock ups.

Yeah, I saw them at the Forum with David Lee. Great show. The first time I heard about the Guitar Hero game my first thought was "What about Eddie?"

I don't think that holds for everyone. In Godfather II when the don shoots Fredo and says "I'm sorry Fredo" it sounds right and I am sure that he was given the context of his line in order to produce it correctly.

Isn't it only pirating if you don't pay for it? If you download the warez version to see if it works on your system and you like the game and then you buy a copy, I don't see how that is different from the role a demo has traditionally filled in the past.

@ cutter & caveman

Why not just download the game, and if you like it, buy it?

News Comments > New NVIDIA GeForce Drivers
6. Re: New NVIDIA GeForce Drivers Apr 3, 2009, 14:06 Bill Borre

I've had a terrible experience with this file this morning. I have updated drivers for my 7800 card on a different computer at least half a dozen times and never had an experience like this. When I clicked on the exe file it wiped out Nvidia information in the device manager leaving only the SVGA option. Then I compounded my misfortune by observing the check box for 'Do not use this option' and thought to myself 'Maybe if I select that, it won't use SVGA and will use instead Nvidia drivers that surely must have installed' but all I got after booting was a black screen. I tried booting off the XP disc and repairing the Windows install but now whenever I boot it it just hangs while displaying a message 'Windows Setup is completing' My previous driver version was .69 and guess there was too big of a gap between that and .825. My hard drive is 200 gigs, mostly full, and I don't want to reformat the disk and do a fresh install of Windows and I don't have a mirror. My game computer is now a big paperweight. Any suggestions?
