I remember I used to get apple pie ala mode from the store up the street when I was a kid. I kind of liked that one.

The cartoonist omitted the principal on the right cartoon though. I worked as a substitute teacher for LA Unified a year and a half back in the mid-nineties and it really felt as though it was a three way gang-up of the students, parents, and administrators against the teachers.

I think DA was more like Icewind Dale than BG.

Yah, me too. I liked DA, but I didn't think it had anywhere near the depth of BG.

I dunno. I just finished Prince of Persia 2008 and I feel like the devs gave us the choice between the bummer ending if you quit when the credits roll, or if you choose to continue playing after that, you get the even worse ending.

It reminds me of that Star Wars RTS that came out years ago where one of the Empire's troopers states "I'm a soldier not a murderer." I wonder if that distinction is still relevant for the American military or if they're all Waffen SS now with none of the wermacht left.

The military is a strange organization. It's supposed to have rules, and yet we hear so much of this. They say it's your Duty to obey orders, but how can one have a duty to murder unarmed people? I think these soldiers could learn more about the concept of Duty by watching a performance of Antigone then by watching the American media.

Yeah, I guess "light 'em up!" just sounds cooler than "murder human beings in cold blood."

I understand your comments. What I don't understand is why these soldiers consider half a dozen unarmed individuals including children a valid military target. You would think that these soldiers would get written up for wasting ammo. I don't mean to sound flippant. This kind of behavior makes absolutely no sense to me even trying to understand it from the military perspective.

I've never been in the military. I'm curious as to why things like those depicted in the video occur. I don't study military tactics so I can't think of any motivating reason for such attacks. Does anyone here have any insight? Does the American military routinely use terrorist tactics in an attempt to undermine enemy morale? Are the officers in charge simply doing these things to get the soldiers under their command used to seeing human beings as targets?

???

I thought that it would be like Timeshift too, but it's not. The closest I could pigeonhole it would be that it plays like Bioshock with a Soviet time travel motif. It actually shows influences from several games like System Shock 2, Red Alert, Portal as well as Bioshock. I'm surprised marketing has focused on the time travel element though because it only happens a couple of times at specific points in the narrative. You can't do it at will. The TMD can be used as a weapon, but it needs ammo up until the very end, and I basically played through the game with the shotgun and the sniper rifle. The TMD is used for platform puzzle-solving during the levels.

It would be cool if they were to integrate the DC wiki into the game so that comics fans could contribute content.

lol. It's like 'The Ring' only with a mobile phone instead of a video cassette. I wonder if the last call they get is a little girl's voice that says "seven days."
