Those were the good ole days, ... SunDog ... omg, SunDog, now there's a Great game from the past. Ayup, back in the goode olde daze, i remember when... *drifts off on a cloud of nostalgic reverie* Authors: Bruce Webster and Wayne Holder for FTL Games Released on: Apple II machine in Apple (UCSD) Pascal and assembly in March 1984. Ported to the Atari ST with some additions circa 1985. (back when there were Real Programmers dammit, and 64K was a LOT of ram!) Comments: Way ahead of its time in terms of gameplay and interface, SunDog was the first of many amazing releases from FTL. |

I wonder what video games will be like 2076 i would hope there'd be at least SOME kind of holographic or holodeck aspect to gaming by then, maybe via direct neural input to induce sensory impressions. You'd close your eyes, jack in, and a whole world of sights, sounds, smells, and feelings would engulf your brain. For all practical purposes, at least in your mind, you'd BE in that world.

Here's the catch: there's no M O N E Y in this. a cheap and simple drug it also has no patent, meaning it could be manufactured for a fraction of the cost of newly developed drugs. which also means for a fraction of the PROFIT .
Anyone really believe Merck or Eli Lily or some other trillion dollar global medical corporation is interested in developing a Cure for Cancer that it can't hold an Exclusive Patent for and extort obscene profits from??? as the article states - The next step is to run clinical trials of DCA in people with cancer. These may have to be funded by charities, universities and governments: pharmaceutical companies are unlikely to pay because they can’t make money on unpatented medicines. Watch this one disappear from the medical reporting radar screen faster than thalidomide.

Not exactly a thorough beta application... name, email, processor, video, RAM... and Gross Annual Income. Whee, another Made For Marketing promotional vehicle disguised as a "game".

bah, after further investigation this is a game whose sole purpose is to function as a platform for advertising and marketing, not a game made for the sake of Art or Story or Tech or Love of gaming.

yes in-game ads, also it's a Dave Perry production if that matters... Dave Perry, who's directing 2Moons for Acclaim and creating several additional MMO games, wants to open up the door for corporate-sponsored micro transactions.
"When you buy a virtual item, we're going to do a search to see if any advertiser in real-time is willing to pick up the cost of that item," said Perry. "If you want this sword, it would put up a message and ask if you would like Coca-Cola to buy this item for you." Sounds weird. minimum system specs are pretty low for a mmog - - Intel PIII 800 MHz or AMD Athlon 800 MHz - 256 MB or more of RAM - 32 MB 3D graphics card with Hardware TnL - GeForce 2 class card or above

4:00 a.m. in Malaysia |

I asked to speak to a supervisor or another representative, and was told there was nobody there, since it was 4:00 a.m. in Malaysia and the rest of the IT staff was busy working at their PRIMARY job - farming in GW and WoW.

a 2 week stint serving Jury Duty will answer the question: "why are things so fcked up?". Very enlightening and depressing to watch The System at work.

the issue that this touches on is how they will be able to fund the creation of additional content after the game's release: yeah, how in the world do you expect EA Execs to afford a new corporate jet every year, or pay berthing fees for their private yachts, or buy a new Rolls Royce Phantom convertible every year if they don't charge these fees!
These guys are practically PAUPERS!
I mean CMON!, that new Ferrari they bought for junior last xmas is over a year old now!

From 196x, Late Nite TV was never better, each week you'd flip the channel to... http://www.timstvshowcase.com/outer.au
There is nothing wrong with your television set, Do not attempt to adjust the picture, We are controlling transmission, We will control the horizontal, We will control the vertical, We can change the focus to a soft blur, Or sharpen it to crystal clarity, For the next hour sit quietly and we will control all that you see and hear, You are about to participate in a great adventure, You are about to experience the awe and mystery which reaches from the inner mind to... The Outer Limits The only thing more chilling and thought provoking at the time was The Twilight Zone.
