Saw the TB video of this, and it looks pretty cool. A lot like Master of Orion. However there are a bunch of bugs with the game still, which hopefully will be patched up before release. Like the game only uses 1 core of your CPU so late game is super laggy, etc. I might pick this up down the line though, the game has a ton of interesting ideas like the squad creation, or the space ship design, mod tools, etc. Check it out: http://youtu.be/xavZ6lipgrI |

Besides, there is no need to make the console online only when every publisher already has the choice to include spiteful always-online DRM a la Diablo 3 How the fuck is a publisher going to publish an always on game on a console that isn't always on? Are you completely unaware Diablo 3 PS3 has OFFLINE play??? Chill man. There have been console MMOs for at least a decade (though not many). I don't know why you would think that consoles can't do online only games right now, they do. Doesn't have to be an MMO, just look at how many hours CoD,Halo or Gears of War players clocked in MP. |

I can see how it would benefit the corporation behind the product but how exactly does any of that benefit the customer? Oh don't you worry they will add some extremely important "features" to the console that will benefit the costumer. Something like chat with your friends while you play a game, or download something in the background while watching a DVD movie etc. You know, something really meaningful that justifies the always online requirements. I mean who doesn't have high speed internet these days lolz
Just look at any of the online DRM games on the PC. What were the "features" that the devs added that required the game to be always online? The "features" that supposed to benefit us. It is all bullshit to cover up their attempt to lock every single game purchase to the console and kill off used games like they did on the PC, while locking out pirates at the same time. It is the most logical approach for the $ hungry corps, and the paying consumers will get the shaft for it again.
I am pretty sure pirates will be playing the unreleased games just as easily as they did before while laughing their asses off. |

I am surprised he is saying that about the always online DRM since they've patched that out of all their PC games, due to the massive failure that it was. Maybe they will try their luck with the consoles this time. Best of luck with that. |

I think if you are working for a company and making jokes about a product unreleased and highly anticipated the whole World is watching and you should be careful what you say. Even if it was just a joke with a friend you know in person.
Twitter is a public channel like you said. If you want to make jokes with friends make it in a private conversation. When people get fired from jobs for pictures on facebook having drinks with friends in a bar, this dummy getting fired for mouthing off on twitter like he did should not come as a surprise to anyone. |
