Does anyone know when it's due to be released?
Sometime in the future.
They can not start working on the game because they are too busy figuring out stretch goals

Looks gorgeous and the design plan sounds a lot more feasible than Star Citizen's kitchen sink approach.

Seconded, looks awesome, I'm getting strong x-wing vibe from that one. Also, I truly believe stylized graphics is the way to go if you're on a budget. 8 bit style craphics I'm feed up with, its not the eighties anymore, but this, minimalistic and stylish approach is super cool.
That looks awesome!
Thanks for sharing.

I dunno, I for one welcome our Dark Lord Zuckermountain and will buy the consumer version of Eyeface or whatever it will be called eventually. I dont give a shit about the faceshaft, enterprising modders will make sure it works with my favorite simulation of choice. (The developer kit support is coming in the next patch in any case)
Same here.

no demo = bad game

how many open world games can you name with demos?
Not too many on the PC but there are demos for open world games.
"Recently" on the PC there was Sleeping Dogs.
Normally with these games that have no demos we get a free weekend to try it out like what Saints Row did a few times, but this game being a Ubi title free weekend is not going to happen.

Either way it would have been nice to have a little sample of the game on our own hardware to see how everything runs.
I am sure after release there will be plenty of youtube vids to show the game off.
I am not into pirating anymore.

I didn't think Ghosts was worth the $30 during that free weekend sale. $10 would have made me think twice.
Just skip Ghost all together. It is easily the worst one in the series.
Blops1-2 looks/plays better imo.
Now they have 3 studious working on the franchise so they can keep up with the annual release schedule plus 4 DLC packs each title.
Guess it takes a little bit more work to program for the new consoles as well as the older ones.

I just want Origin to go away so I want to believe Origin is hanging on the ropes....
Why?
I am not defending EA I am not a big fan of them but why do you wish for Origin to go away?
Competition is good for the consumers. Origin is not any more pain to use than Steam and at least EA offers 24hrs money back if you are not happy with the game you've bought, something hopefully Steam will start to do in the future.
I love Steam and everything but I don't see how Origin's existence is a bad thing for gamers.

I think it stands a better chance of success than 3D,
I agree but until 4k content is widely available I don't think it has a chance.
I did not see too much content that is 4k yet.
Sure if I was to buy a new TV today I'd probably look at a 4k one but to run out and upgrade my TV right now because of 4k, well I don't see that happening.

By the way I don't think you could use the keys on Origin from actual CD/DVDs anyways.
I've had BF2 on a disc and could not add the CD key to my Origin library. I got invalid CD key error.
Ended up buying the whole BF complete set from Origin when it was on sale for $5, in case my disc gets scratched or something.

Depends on the game. I know my disc copies of Dead Space and Burnout Paradise, for example, both registered on Origin, despite being older than Origin itself (although to be fair, BP did use the old EA CORE online system).

Oh ok I guess it depends on the game than.
BF2 is a pretty dang old game so no surprise there.

Yeah that is what it means I believe.
Just like how Steam doesn't sell any discs but you can redeem "CD-keys" in Steam.

Not sure if CoH1 was the same way or not but CoH2 did not let me rebind any keys. It frustrated the shit out of me. Besides MoW is a much better game.
I own CoH2 but barely played it.

This idea that everyone's going to live in a VR universe is just ludicrous. You're not building fucking ANA.

All it needs is a killer app like a VR version of Leisure Suit Larry and the nerds will line up to get one of these headsets
Seriously though I am looking forward to this headset regardless of who is behind it. As long as they get the cash and resources to make this a great product I am in.
