I wouldn't trust a review from them ever.
Same can be said just about any other review site these days. Those lets plays are more helpful to me than reviews when it comes to making a purchase decision.
Reviews these days are nothing but hyping or thrashing a game.

I've been away from Elite for a while now. Needed a little break from the game. I am sure some day we'll get together in game.

Watched that gameplay footage, not impressed at all. Not even close to the previous video game play they've showed when the game was introduced.
I wonder if UBI does this with every game they make. Show something impressive than significantly downgrade the released version.
Now I am a bit worried about The Division.

Where do we start?

Severe Pop Out - distant things are not visible and then pop out.

Friendly Fire - Shoot up your own capital ships while you miss those pesky fighters.

Those enemy fighters, can't fly for crap.

Looks like a rail shooter.
I know this is a common excuse around here to protect another well known space game but, this footage was pre alpha, not even nearly finished.
Let's cut them some slack. Even if this is a rail shooter to ship with Oculus to show off it's capabilities or to get people into using it I think they are doing an awesome job of immersion.
All the nit picking shit can wait until after the game is released.
By the way is there any game you actually like? Looks like you hate on everything

I've stopped playing this shortly after it came out. Maybe my pc is not up to the task but the game just didn't run very well for me. Had to turn everything down to medium in order to get any sort of performance out of it.
Flying around in a little bird was awesome though.

Maybe Valve should implement a stipulation on seeing how many achievements this person achieved and how much time they spent in that game. Those should be disqualification factors.
Steam already tracks hours played so they could easily do something like refund for up to 1hr gametime or something, but they just don't want to do it.

If that was true and they don't care about making software anymore because of no motivation, no $ etc., what is their motivation to make a new OS (for free), and hardware?
I am pretty sure they will not make nearly the profit on Steam VR headsets as they make on digital hats, and trading cards.

I don't understand how Origin/EA can offer refunds for 24hrs but Steam can not.

Because "can't" and "won't" are totally different things.

Yeah true enough, good points too InBlack
If for nothing else for this reason alone I wish Origin would get bigger to offer a competition to Steam. However I doubt EA would be able to do such a thing. The refund poilicy is a good start though

No we don't. Businesses in Ontario aren't required to provide refunds or exchanges. There's a cooling off period of 14 days on written contracts valued over $50, but if you choose to waive your rights by agreeing to the Terms of Use that's considered express consent.

A ToS and ToU or even contract can not be used to waive your rights in Ontario or Canada. That was covered under a case with Rogers Communications. Also, the part you're talking about has to do with all contracts between two or individuals not just 'written contracts.'
I thought you could always get your money back for purchases on Steam via Credit Card charge back, but doesn't that mean Valve will ban your Steam account?
