And last of all, for those that haven't read the books, I highly recommend them. They are now some of my favorite Medieval Fantasy novels I've read thus far in my life; the author Andrzej Sapkowski really did a pretty good job of taking old fantasy tropes and making up something unique and interesting with them. ALSO, I didn't realize there are at least 2-3 more books in the series that have yet to be translated (those lucky Europeans and Polish!). I can't wait for the "Sword of Destiny", "The Swallow's Tower" and "Lady of The Lake."
Thanks for the heads up.
I did check out the books last night online and read through the preview of the e-book version of the first one. It is really well written. Going to buy it.

Well I do usually skip through the boring parts of porn

I know right? I always skip to the end...credits. There's usually some awesome music playing over the end credits that I dig.
Whatever rocks your boat dude, for me credits doesn't do it but hey I am not here to judge

less time available which I'm sure a lot of you here have no clue what that's about yet until you move out, marry, and have responsibilities (don't even have a kid yet!). Your time management becomes a major factor in gaming, lol.
or a lot of us here have already passed you, kids moved out, wife left and we have tons of free time to play games

The flight model is constantly being tweaked. Some fans don't like the changes introduced in 1.1 and I would be surprised if we don't see further changes before release. That said, I don't have a problem with any of the mechanics and I came from games like Tie Fighter, Wing Commander and Starlancer. Flying straight at your enemies is a terrible strategy - you should be using asteroids for cover and strafing to approach them from the side or behind.

Nope. Just nope. Strafing? I backed a Wing Commander successor not a FPS. There isn't always something to hide behind, nor should I need to. If there is no dogfight there is no space sim. I'm happy you and others enjoy it. Some people enjoy eating grubs too. That knowledge doesn't help me if I'm served grubs at some bizarre dinner party I hope I never go to. If the core gameplay is this bad after all this time in development then I've wasted my money and Roberts has wasted my good faith.

At least he didn't hope you got cancer again.

We also found out that Microsoft is controlling the graphics drivers for the Windows 10 Tech Preview and the only way to get the latest GPU drivers it to go through Windows Update. This is the first time ever that we needed to rely on Microsoft for drivers and for AMD and NVIDIA to tell us that they couldn’t give us GPU drivers?

Oh I hope that isn't going to be the norm. That'll suck some serious balls if it will be.

Man this game looks great. With digital distribution now days for the majority of games I wonder why the prices keep going up?
I think the CDN price is up due to crappy exchange rate between US and CDN$ but still digitally distributed games should cost less not more.
I assume this is a $59.99 game in the US, which is console game price, the PC prices were always $10 lower than the console ones.
Either way whatever their excuse is to have the game priced like it is, for me personally it isn't worth $75.

Yep, being a MP game you bet there will be map packs and weapon camo packs and colorful underwear packs right after the game comes out.
The Rainbow Six name sounds great but I will not throw money at it with the nostalgia glasses on.
I'll see how the game turns out when it is finished.
There are plenty of other games to play anyways. Loving Insurgency these days

I backed 3 ships more for lifetime insurance than the ship(s) itself. Why? Because I don't want to feel obligated to grind for cash just to insure my ship (s) if I want to pirate etc. I know Ill have to pay for weapons and systems again but still better than grinding out a monthly quota to pay for insurance. Back when I was in my 20s I didn't mind nerding out for 48 hour marathons of gaming, not anymore though.
I doubt the insurance will be that expensive.

First-person games where your view moves independently of your weapon (or sword, or whatever) will change the world.
You can do that with TrackIR, although the VR headset will be more immersive for sure.
Arma3 is amazing with TrackIR

Or let you deactivate your game. Which is something all these companies including Microsoft with their OS activation should have done a long time ago.
Even Apple allows you to do that.

I stopped buying from EA and Ubisoft years ago, for several reasons:

1. Restrictive DRM.

2. They market a game and then make you pay for 'DLC' which should have been part of the base package.

3. Above all, I don't see any title from either company which really makes me sit up and take notice.

Summary: Technically restrictive DRM, poor value for money, and lots of derivative sequels with no real evidence of innovation. No thanks.

EA: So bad, even The Dark Lord Sauron himself says "no". (tm)

I remember having a few games telling me I've used up all the activations I was eligible for back in the Direct2Drive days of online distribution. I've contacted them and they reset it for me.
Minor inconvenience.
I dislike EA as much as the other guy but I am having a hard time believing they would lock anyone out of their purchased games for hardware changes. Maybe you have to contact them to reactivate the game but a complete lock out and having to repurchase games sounds a bit unrealistic to me.
