News Comments > Men of War Assault Squad 2 Delayed
1. Re: Men of War Assault Squad 2 Delayed Feb 6, 2014, 09:15 SpectralMeat

Sounds good to me.
As long as they actually spend the time patching up the game to make sure it is in finished state when released unlike many other highly anticipated titles from last year that was pushed out the door half baked.
I did not preorder it, I'll probably wait for some feedback before I buy this game.
I would also like to see some gameplay before I drop the money.
The first game was pretty awesome

I am not too keen on the PvP MP although I am sure it will be fun but the coop missions are going to rock.
This game seems to have it all when it comes to this genre. On top of all this it looks really awesome too graphically.
I literally can not wait!
Now I have to dust off my joystick and start practicing to fly with it. I haven't touched that thing for years.

I can understand why they made it so high in price for the Alpha, hopefully they relax it a bit for the beta versions, I might do the step-up from just being a backer.
Well the premium (1st wave ) beta cost half the Alpha price and the regular beta is half the premium beta.
Those are in acceptable level in pricing imo but the Alpha is just way too much for me.

I wish the entry fee to get into the Alpha would be a bit lower. I might get in the beta phase. This game looks fantastic.

I would love the opportunity to be able to buy, collect and play game soundtrack via some steam service, perferably able to be operated using big picture.
I wouldn't hold my breath for that one.

Price seems a bit steep on this one.
It may be an amazing game but I'll wait and see how this is ones it is released.

I backed 3 kickstarters, and this is by far the one i'm the most excited about (others being Eternity & ROAM)

I was backing Kickstarters left and right back when this was KS'd, but I missed it somehow. It's so impressive as basically a one man show (I think he outsourced the music). Josh is like another John Carmack. This will probably be early access this summer, but probably won't be "finished" until next year sometime.

In terms of the time frame, I think mid 2014 is also very optimistic. However, the way he is building the game is to get all the framework and background mechanics in place first, THEN add the necessary content.

His theory is that the game will come together very quickly once the underlying systems are done. Since he's so thorough about the back end stuff, I tend to think he could pull it off.
I think middle of this year a little too optimistic but at the beginning of this devblog he mentions that there is less than a year development time.
So at this point I think he is aiming for this year release.
I'll jump on board as soon he has this in Early Access on Steam.

Actually, when I first saw his kickstarter page and saw what he was proposing to do, I figured it was a scam and that he just wanted a quick 50K. I'm really sorry I didn't back it now. Wall2
Same here.
Oh well hopefully he will be able to finish it this year like he says he would.
Kind of interesting how he doesn't take any more money until the game is finished.

Blue, you do this every single year with the groundhog day and repeat the news from the previous day.
Every year reminds me of the movie groundhog day and every year it makes me smile as that is one of my favorite movies of all time.

So apparently Insurgency is really good.

If I back something on Kickstarter, I am solely investing in the development of the game, and expect nothing in return immediately.

If I buy a game on Early-Access, I expect a certain amount of content depending on the dollar value.

Yeah I think that is where a lot of the confusion comes from. A lot of people look at Early Access the same way as you, even though it should be no different from Kickstarter.
Funny how getting less for the money seems more. When you kickstart a game you get nothing in return right away but still that seems like a more approved money spending practice then paying for early access but not getting all the game content and features just a taste of it.

So what I'm saying is, if you are looking to buy this RIGHT NOW for the content CURRENTLY BEING OFFERED, it's not worth it.

The only other game I've bought on early-access is ARMA 3 and DayZ, and both those offered tons of content right off the hop.
Got ya.
I got it because I wanted to help the devs to get this game made.
I also had Arma3 in early access and I know what you mean. Sadly though Arma 3 shipped without the single player element and a lot of people shit all over the game because of it.
For how much I've paid for this game if they add multiplayer support for the demo derbies I've already got my money's worth, because that mode is a ton of fun.
I am pretty sure the finished game will be a lot more than that though, hopefully they can add all the features they want and polish it up for release.
