The route plotting seem to work a lot faster too and plotting a long route now has a % meter so you see the progress.
Like that a lot.

Been looking at this game for a while so great news for me to jump in and try. It's only a 1GB install but I hope it has the campaign.
It has SP, not sure if that is a campaign or not but it is more like kill all the robots on the map.
Performance wise the game runs like a dog on my machine though.
I know it is early access and all that jazz but graphics aren't that hot imo to make my GTX760 crawl on 1080p

I was thinking about getting JAF but then I read the reviews on Steam and checked the forum and decided to just skip it.

considering you have no clue whats going on, its not surprising you dont see what the big deal is...

you see, you need to actually know what is happening before you can know what is happening
Well well now harlock
This is why we have highly educated people like yourself on this forum so you can tell us why should we all get our panties in the bunch over a beta delay.

Oh okay
Well I am sure he will release the beta when it is ready to be released.
I didn't follow it so closely, but it seems like he communicated this info with the backers through the Kickstarter page so I don't see what the big deal is.

The reality of kickstarter projects is that you never know what you are going to get until the game is finished.
People invest into these projects should be well aware they are basically gamble with their money.
Planetary Annihilation was my learning lesson in that regards.

PA had a giant red flag over it when both supcom 1 and 2 cost 10 million to make. They were trying to make one on 2.5 million 5x less then Supcom 1 took.

Anyone who invested in PA was game development illiterate. It should have been obvious given that the internet is filled with developers themselves talking about huge game budgets and impossible deadlines.
Well I didn't see the red flags. Anyways lesson learned.

This makes me respect even more what Josh is doing with Limit Theory.
He froze further funding of the project until the game is released.

The more reason to play the older BF games like 3-4
Hopefully most of the hackers moved on to the new game, so the older ones are a bit more enjoyable.

Is anyone else waiting to see the next few weeks of events unfold like all other Battlefield games?

1) Hardlines open beta will ask for participation touting feedback which will help tune server load and weapon damage...

2) On game day release, the servers will be overloaded, "we didn't foresee this many people wanting to play our game despite how many people pre-ordered it"

3) Reported bugs will have been ignored rather than fixed.

4) Overpowered weapons and exploits weren't even addressed, Game balance issues still exist.

5) A third of the people who bought Hardline wont even be able to play until the next patch...
Naahh man
This time it will be different! They've promised.

3/10 for Cities XXL seems about right. Just about everyone is complaining about that game.
Other than they've changed the title of the game there isn't much else they've done.
They couldn't even bother to have the text centered on the menu screen.

Either Im getting grumpy and old, or games are generally getting worse and worse. I tend to think its a combination of the two.
Same here, and I think you nailed it.
It is the combination of both.
These days the best to wait around for the game to be patched up, and get it on sale.
There is less and less reason to buy games on release or before.

Not really.
I think it is great to setup your ships and build them the way you want and then sit back and watch the battle unfold.
There are other games where during the battle phase plays out without user input. Endless Space is one of them.
Doesn't make the game bad though.
I've been watching videos of GSB2 on youtube and the game does look pretty cool.
I'll most likely get it.

Try to dock this puppy without a docking computer
Especially considering where the pilot is. You can't even see the nose of the ship.

It'll probably cost a few mill to buy it.

It's pretty similar to how the Anaconda is...which you can actually see the nose of the ship. The coolest this is that you can see your forward hardpoints firing!

Yeah, I wonder how much it'll cost. Maybe $200 million? Or since it's Federation, maybe it'll be fairly cheap if you get the rep.

Also, re: docking, do you know if you go through the mail slot with your gear down, the metal rings will push you to the center?
I didn't know that, good to know.
It would be nice to see a scale of some sort how big this ship is compared to the Anaconda.
Can't be too much bigger since it has to fit through the hole.
