Hopefully the wait will worth it. The game looks pretty awesome. Is the Ai still a mess?

Apparently Payday 1 is free on Steam on Oct 16th for 24 hours.
Free to buy or play? http://store.steampowered.com/app/24240/ doesn't show it free for me.

Showing as 'Install' for me, and once I clicked through it now claims it's registered to my account. I think it's free to buy.
Yes it is ones you install it you own the game forevah!

They'll fund them by selling capital ships for like $25,000 each.
That or they sell tickets to the attendees, and have a few sponsors as well like Doritos and Mountain Dew or something.

I didn't check out the Strategy Informer review of F1-2014 above but I did read through the PCGamer one yesterday. Needless to say they weren't really blown away by this game.
I honestly do not know why Codemasters have released it. There is literally less content in this than last years version.

On the back of F1 2014’s box under ‘new features,’ there may as well be a picture of a man shrugging apologetically.

They should have released this on the next gen consoles. On the PC I think this is too much like the previous Borderlands games were to justify full price.

Yep, than Crytek can say see there is no money in PC gaming, meanwhile Chris Roberts laughing his ass off all the way to the bank.

Yep, it was an xbone exclusive...

Well at least Yerli can't complain it didn't sell because of piracy then.
Oh I am pretty sure he was whining about PC piracy of RYSE before the PC port was even finished.

the "advanced dogfighting" tutorial schooled my ass. I suck. I figured out pretty quickly that lower velocity = tighter turn radius but I still seem to manuever like a drunken whale and have trouble even getting the enemy into my sights.
It will take a bit to learn and master the flight controls.
I have a button on my joystick mapped to turn off flight assist for example and I usually start the turn then shut off flight assist as my ship drifts in one direction and it is spinning around at the same time than flip back flight assist to regain control and go after the baddies.
I use that technique in this video

Just give it time, everyone has to go through that learning process, but trust me ones you get it, dogfighting will be by far the most entertaining part of this game.
You can literally re live dogfighting scenes from movies like Star Wars. Hiding behind asteroids to break visual contact, etc.
Tons of fun.

Surprisingly, the starting menu has no ads. Hop one page over, yeah, ads for games, movies n dlc.
I still do not find that as bad as the 360 was.
I didn't care much for customization on the 360, but at least it is nice of them to allow stuff like this.
Next up should be allowing voice and/or video messages to be sent to friends. You know stuff that was there for years for the 360.

It's downloading at home now.
You won't be disappointed. It really is an amazing game. I haven't been this excited for a game in the past 10 years at least.
I mean what other space sim game looks this awesome

1. Re: F1 2014 Trailer Oct 9, 2014, 08:27 SpectralMeat

GRID Autosport and this F1 not being out on the next gen consoles isn't really helping them.
Every platform they release this game for already have last years F1 game and this isn't so much different from that.
There isn't any F1 games on the next gen consoles so I think this would have sold way better on there if they would have took a year off and just make the game running on those systems.

I know they are working on an F1 game for the next gen consoles which is due out next year but I don't see the point of releasing this now and then another game in a few months.

I am waiting for a good racing game on the PS4. Maybe The Crew,
Based on the beta, I wouldn't hold my breath for that one.
Project cars would be a better bet at a decent racing game, if they can fix the Ai before release

Maybe they shouldn't promote people who are clueless about Battlefield to be community manager and then producer of the game.

With idiots like that working for you it's pretty hard to take your game seriously when the people working for your company don't.

It is interesting to see David Goldfarb's replies. He worked on BF3, his response "re installing BFBC2"

Yeah, I was watching that dogfighting video someone posted the other day and my first through was "I wish I could fly like that."

I've posted that, and he put in quiet a bit of time to fly like that.
It does take some time but it is very satisfying to master those skills, and the death penalty isn't so terrible in starter ships so I don't think it is frustrating to learn
