In the IGN video they've mentioned that a Heist mission took them about 3 hrs to do. I wonder how that works. Can you save it and come back to it later?
I am looking forward to the PC version, hopefully they did a good job with the optimization.

Yes the "story" in DG2 was fucking terrible and annoying.

Almost nothing worth it on there, but I did pick up Defense Grid 2 on Steam... it's actually pretty good! I'd heard a lot of bad things about the game, but so far(through mission 16?) only thing I've noticed is one seemingly unoptimized level that ran pretty slowly with everything maxxed out on settings.

It's not bad, if anything it's actually a very good tower defense game, but it does have two flaws:

1) It's not as good as the first (and the story in this one is just garbage)
2) Its scoring system is still mostly just incomprehensible. I'll finish a level with higher resources left and fewer towers built and yet I'll wind up with a lower score...

Getting gold on every level is quite frankly dead easy, so trying to get better scores is really what drives me to replay a level, and if I can't figure out HOW to get a better score, I quickly lose interest.

That said, you can do excellent strategies on some of the maps, and they have offered a lot of interesting combo techniques now, so it's definitely worth playing.
I've picked it up as well and totally agree with your points Creston.
There is also a free dlc map you can get by registering on their site. They'll e-mail you the steam code.
Still it is a fun little game to play as a distraction every now and then. The original is still a classic and one of the best if not the best tower defense games out there. Lone Survivor comes pretty close

Never even played the first but I heard good things about it. A lot people even claimed it as their game of the year. I would definitely like a run thru that one before seeing what this sequel is all about.
Yeah I've been hearing good things about that too, but I will not pay $60 for that game. Maybe I'll pick it up on sale.

I think I'm the only one getting this, so I'll be sure to post some comments (once it's done downloading, which may take awhile.)

Pretty excited for it, though. It looks like what Sim City was supposed to be.
I ended up getting it as well.

TitanFall used the Source engine, but the game is only available on Origin because EA, so they'll go with something else for TF2.
I think development on TF2 is already ongoing but I doubt they are using the Source 2 engine, maybe TF3 will be different engine or they'll drop Origin exclusivity.
On the consoles I thought they already mentioned they are not going to be xbox exclusive for TF2

Also, is anyone out there playing with a Thrustmaster T-Flight HOTAS X combo?
I remember reading on the Elite forums a lot of people using that.
The game only available on their website, Elite store.

I guess but it looks like you have others in your party based on this trailer.
The previous Warhammer game was the same and it was a fun game.

So it seems that you'll have a scenario where you use Source 2, have Valve say they don't want to sell your game for whatever reason, and then you're forbidden from selling your game at all.
I guess Valve will be able to control what sort of games can be made with their engine?

...releasing the source code can help a lot more than it can hurt.

Does this mean that people can use it with AMD or is it still locked to Nvidia only?
I am thinking you will still need Nvidia hardware to run PhysX

I get Source 2 as those games will likely end up on Steam anyway,
They must be on steam.

Titanfall is a Source engine game, and it's not on Steam.
Source 2 games dude

Valve won’t be asking for any money at all. Well, sort of… They just require that the game be launched on Steam, along with anywhere else you might want to sell it.

This thing looks dang expensive. Wonder how many people can afford such hardware.
Must be more than 2~3 if Nvidia feels the need to invest in such tech
