Since I have not played SC2 for a long time I forgot my password. Resetting password, got the e-mail with the confirmation link. Click on the link everything is fine, try to log in again with the new pw, Blizzard locked my account for suspicious activity. I never though checking a price on something is going to be this fucking difficult. The game is $39.99USD in the US. Not sure about the rest of the world though.
I played through the first mission before going into work this morning, and definitely liked what I saw. Nothing much is going on at work today -- mostly today I'm just a warm body so that management can say that someone is on duty if anything happens -- so I'm trying to get SC2 up and running in WINE on my Linux laptop. Thanks |

Whatever the figure is I am sure it is a big drop from what the sales numbers were, but do you think the publisher really care much about it? I am sure Blizzard is and I am pretty sure Maxis isn't too happy about how this all turned out, but neither EA or Activision will give 2 shits about it. They got their money back from sales. I am sure they will find another title from the past they can resurrect and cash in on, then drive it in the ground. They've been doing this for years. |

I must be the minority here that doesn't really care much for story lines in video games. I largely don't but that's only because after playing these things for decades I've come to realize developers never, ever, ever, ever, ever have anyone except a monkey armed with a crayon do the writing. There are a few exceptions (Witcher series) but most games especially shooters I normally do not play for the story. |

Tried to get into it so many times but it just frustrates me, quiet the opposite effect then what I would want when I sit down to play a city builder game. |

I must be the minority here that doesn't really care much for story lines in video games. I agree the previous MP games were better in the story department but that never stopped me having fun with MP3. The gunplay was awesome. |

You would think that these publishers would start getting the idea that no one wants forced always on for single player titles. Diablo 3 sold over 6.3 million copies within the first week. I am sure a lot of the publishers would love to have a failed title like that. |

Hehe couldn't figure out why my frame rate was dog shit, until I realized Vsync was enabled. Now it runs like butter with my GTX570 everything on high and some on Ultra. Game is pretty hardcore, even on regular difficulty the Ai is kicking my ass! I have to figure out that editor and create some missions. Good times
Have you guys seen this, fun with mortar: https://twitter.com/Arma3official/status/310024273114853378

Panickd wrote on Mar 6, 2013, 11:13: On to 2143: given EA's new "we're going to monetize the shit out of every possible thing" business model, I don't think a Battlefield 2143 game would turn out all that great. In fact, quite the opposite. I don't mind the map pack type stuff (the BF3 expansions were ok) that much but the lack of a map editor and the inconsistency in fixing problems with the game is really annoying. Other companies have demonstrated you can monetize users contributions to the game, EA is really behind the market in that regard and needs to shape up. The problem is that, by choosing to allow monetization of user content, they are automatically choosing to give the liberty to those same players to distribute their content for free. And that, is not EA. Doesn't always means that. Look at Arma, they have the mod tools, players can create their own scenarios, etc., but Arma also have a bunch of game add ons and they were selling fine too. Mod tools doesn't always means no DLC sales For games like that however the devs and publishers better make sure the DLC is enough content and quality so that people will buy it. |

Did you guys find the gameplay all twitchy? I just found it kind of weird, like the characters has weight to it when you move around but the gameplay is way too fast for me. I don't mind the twitch run and gun gameplay sometimes but imo CoD does a better job at that. Teamplay is definitely crucial and I agree with Verno a lot of people just ignore it and go for the stats whoring big time. Maybe I am just getting too old for this shit

I did have some fun with BF3 but I got bored of it a lot sooner then I thought I would. All this hype building for the next BF game is just not getting to me anymore. It seems like they are trying to cash in on all the previously successful franchises by making a new version of them with a lot less flexibility, and completely ignore what made those old games so successful the begin with. DLC map packs is not answer EA. BF2142? Sure let's re skin some stuff in BF3 and sell it as a new game. |
