There was also a tons of complaints on the forum about the dev did not complete the game as some promised features were not implemented, he called the game feature complete and moved onto other things (obviously working on SD2)
However he was still putting out patches for StarDrive so not sure why all the outcry.
I believe this is a 1 man show type developer.
Not sure if the dev team grew for SD2 or if it is still just him.

I've been using unblockus for a while but recently switched to https://www.privateinternetaccess.com/ because they are cheaper.

Can't you login to Steam via VPN and get it unlocked?

I'm a PC gamer that can tinker a bit.. but no idea how this VPN trick works and I'm afraid that if I try it something happens with my connection.. and without internet, one cannot breathe.
It is not that complicated. However I am not sure how well Steam handles this sort of thing.
All it does is redirects your IP so Steam thinks you are in the US so the game gets unlocked, then you reset the IP to your homeland again and can play the game.
I use a VPN for Netflix so I can access US movies as the CDN Netflix sucks balls to say the least.

Edit: I forgot most paid VPN services offer a free trial and a very detailed explanation on their website with step by step instructions on how to set everything up.
My only worry is will Steam find this legal or will they flag your account. You may want to do some research on it.
I know a lot of people are doing this to unlock games early.

Any news of a freelook mode (ability?) inside of the cockpit?
Elite Dangerous has that "feature"

As for X-Rebirth at least they are working on the game and not on a DLC or next title.

Is there really a market for this sort of game?
I mean I am getting spammed on facebook with all sorts of browser strategy games.
Ubi should just stick with making normal games none of this free to play browser game non sense.

Having all sorts of frame rate issues in AS2. The first missions seem to be fine but the second mission with the snow map is like a slide show.
Hope they will improve the performance for the final release.
Also the difficulty ramps up pretty good.

It sounds like TB is getting a lot of criticism for his Thief video. He just posted this on his channel: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HpmeOB0Zyu0

While I sometimes have trouble listening to TB for extended periods of time, I definitely share very similar opinions on games.
Same here.
Usually the things he criticize are valid problems with games, but he has a tendency to take it a bit far sometimes and going down the whiny end of criticizing games.
With that said 99% of the time I agree with him and his verdict on games.

I'll probably watch some "lets play" vids first by people who doesn't get paid to publish their opinion to make my own conclusions

Pre-release reviews almost always slant toward the good side. 71% is pretty bad for pre-release reviews IMHO. I think I'll wait to see what TotalBiscuit or Angry Joe have to say about the game before I consider picking it up.
I've posted a link to the TotalBiscuit video below

I don't get it with some of you people. Was he supposed to work on the game for free? Did any of you buy ARMA2/DayZ? Why does it bother you so much?
I thought we were talking about the DayZ stand alone game here

Sad to see another missed opportunity, but they should have known.
Attaching a title like Thief to any game will bring a rather high expectations from the fans.

Reviews doesn't look too good guys.
From the Ars Technica review:
The good

Garrett's new duck-and-swoop move is pretty slick.
Decent interface for stealth manuevers.
The Bad

The plot is an incoherent mess.
Seriously, the ending didn't make a lick of sense.
Hackneyed writing and wooden performances.
Level design is much too linear.
Guards are too sensitive to your every movement.
Guard AI is easy to outrun and easier to fool.
Lots of badly done, out-of-place platforming and puzzle bits.
The ugly

Why does every game have to have some mystical ghost bullshit these days?
Verdict: Go buy Dishonored instead. If you already own Dishonored, just play it again.
TB also have his first look on youtube.

Interesting that Banished is up there at top spot. This indy game comes from nowhere, it's finished (something rare these days), there was no multi-year hype buildup, and it seems really brilliant (didnt get it yet, but had it on my "watch list").
and it was created by a single person
