Got this for free with my video card. Looking forward to play it next month

Was supposed to, but Amazon never sent me the code.
You should contact them. I found amazon customer support to be top notch.

Also, I'm pretty sure a fair fraction of those people didn't pay $60. There have been deals going on for $30-46, right on launch day.
I think he was referring to the Steam version which hasn't been on sale.

Still can't start the game. The loader just loads forever and nothing happens. I tried everything, no go.

Your windows login name doesn't include any non-standard characters, does it? That's a documented issue, and you can't just change the login name, you need to make a new user with admin rights.

It does. But I don't get the error messages that the documented issue shows, so I'm not sure that's it. I was actually able to start the game once this morning. But that's it, broken again now. Oh and it's impossible for me to create a new user.
Did you check if you have any mis match file sizes that was posted in the other thread?
Many people had files partially downloaded or corrupted, after re downloading them the game started up fine.

Edit: here is the link

Yeah people are selling those game codes ever since the promo started. No difference from any other promo for games in the past.

After spending some time with it I've concluded the game is extremely CPU dependent, even a mild OC on my 2500k makes a massive difference in framerate while swapping GPUs had little effect on performance. It's a good port overall but it feels like it could still use some optimization to offload more to the GPU, mine doesn't even max utilization sometimes. Anyone who is looking to increase performance for this game is probably better off upgrading their CPU rather than their GPU.

Hmm, I noticed a massive difference swapping from my GTX 680 to the GTX 980. My CPU is an i5 3,2ghz (or something near that) and I'm not experiencing any slowdowns except.. for some reason the outskirts areas (where Trevor starts) seem to piss my card off every now and then, and only ever so slightly. Must be the dust... or maybe the "long shadows" casting an insane amount of long shadows for every single bush out there.. :\ I remember someone saying dynamic shadows are CPU heavy.
You may want to check the grass details too, I've heard that kills the performance.

Yep, these guys aren't rushing their games out. They are one of my favorite devs and I'll buy their games with max confidence...

I definitely use to feel this way about them until their botched Red Orchestra 2 release. I didn't even mind the bugged release, but their unfulfilled promise of a co-op campaign for RO2 has not been forgotten. It's not going to stop me from getting KF2 because I like the improvements I've seen over KF1, but any "planned features" they have will be looked at differently than before.
Yeah I can see how that could change your mind about them.

A few million people, at minimum...

More like a few thousands, this game is less popular on the PC than Black Ops 2 is still.

Had a ton of fun with their previous games. Killing Floor wasn't one I've spent a lot of time playing but KF2 looks really good.
Hope to find a good group of people to play it with.

Running it on my new MSI GTX 980 everything maxed out (except MSAA, have that on 4x just to be safe.. I don't want it to ever even remotely drop under 60 fps you see).
I got my 970 yesterday, and I am not blown away by the performance.
For some reason I am having texture loading issues, in the benchmark the very first scene the water doesn't load at all it's just gray blank.
I have MSAA turned off completely, grass set to normal and still it's hovering around 60fps but towards the end of the benchmark wit hthe cars exploding it drops to 30fps

Not sure what causes the missing textures though it's kind of annoying. Didn't have that issue with my 760.
There is also texture popping.
I'll have to play a bit with the settings.
I only have 8Gb RAM atm I wonder if that causes the issues.

Yes it was a single player mission, but I don't remember the phone cal or text or whatever stating that it was going to be a robbery, just that to get a car and go to that location, so it was all totally random but unfolded in a hilarious way.

I don't plan to get either the Titan X or 980's however. nVIDIA has been holding back the 980 Ti, which is apparently supposed to release at the end of the summer (August/September) and is hopefullly going to completely demolish the regular 980's and Titan X in performance judging by the early rumors.
Which makes me wonder how AMD's 3XX cards will fair to the top of the line Nvidia offering.

I went to rob a grocery store with a cement mixer last night. Didn't go so well.

Dude! I literally laughed out loud on that one. Too funny!
It was pretty hilarious.

I was running around doing stupid shit in the city when I got a phone call that I have to go to this grocery store.
I didn't pay much attention to the details so not sure if there were any. The game was telling me to get a car.
A cement mixer was driving down the road, I went in front of it the driver stops I yank the guy out and I remember he was saying something along the lines of "you gotta be fucking kidding me"
I drove to the store and the game tells me to point the gun at the clerk, he starts to fill the bag with cash but the cops are already on their way.
When he finally finish filling the bag I run out of the door and of course no other cars on the road except my lovely cement mixer. I hop in try to drive away from the cops, I think I ended up jumping out of the moving vehicle and swim across this river, managed to somehow get away but I was laughing my ass off.
Dumb criminals reality tv show stuff.
