Hahahaha, right. That explains the god-awful PC UI...

I don't understand the reasoning behind the "If you've been playing the game as it is now, you are not allowed to expect that it would have had single player offline mode at some point in the future".

Why not? What if I bought the alpha with the full expectation (because they said it will) that it would at some point have offline singleplayer, and now they pull the rug from under me?
I think because they are giving out refund to those that physically can not run the game with the always online requirements.
If you've been playing the Alpha/Beta you clearly don't have that issue. It sucks that they cut a feature that was promised but unfortunately that is their final decision.
I fully expect them to try and make it up for people by giving an extra copy of the game or in game goodies or something.
I am not 100% sure on the terms of Kickstarter but I wonder if some people can sue them for this. How pissed some people are I fully expect to see lawsuits.

Everything calls home in some way. At the very least they can see how many people are in their servers vs copies sold, or how many gamertags have unlocked achievements vs copies sold (which is not a fantastic metric as many systems have multiple tags, and many gamers bring discs to buddies' houses, but is still a metric you'll hear discussed inside studios in the weeks following launch.)
Not to mention the rather large used game market.
I think this is why Microsoft wanted to do the game locked to your gamertag type of deal like what we have on the PC.
Not only that would have eliminated the used game market, it would have gave them more control over legitimate vs pirated.
I am pretty sure that is why both Sony and Microsoft are pushing digital game delivery vs physical media.

How hard is it to have dedicated servers, when games with $70,000 budgets have them?!?!
This has nothing to do with how hard is it to make dedi servers available to the masses.
The $70,000 game made by a single person has to pull all the string to attract consumers.
CoD? Nahh. People will buy it anyways.

I'm glad I didn't back or buy this game. Still awaiting Star Citizen, which I think is going to blow this game away.
I am still glad I've backed Elite, and wish I could get my $40 back I paid for SC. Different strokes for different folks

They can't really refund the people who have played already or massive amounts of customers are just gonna ask for a refund to their overpriced alpha/beta purchase and get the much cheaper release version in a few weeks.
Yeah I guess that is the main reason why they do not want to refund the Kickstarter people

Ironically this the least appropriate way to go about it, people who backed early should be treated with more respect as it was a early promise.
Yep, this is kind of backwards.
Kind of reminds me of Canadian telecommunication companies that gives better deals to new customers than to those that are loyal to them for decades.
I wasn't expecting this from Frontier.
I will still enjoy the shit out of this game but yeah I wish they were more upfront about this issue and would handle the refunds differently.
Not cool.

I have serious doubt this would have got funded if MMO and not offline was in the sales pitch. As well of the not giving out refunds if youre not happy bit too.
That is the point.
Exactly.
I will still play the game but this certainly leaves a bad taste in the mouth of many people.
I don't regret kickstarting this game but I won't defend them either for making bad decisions.
The $40 I've paid for SC, well yeah that I regret.

The only interesting looking racing game scheduled for the PC is the crew.
To be honest after playing the crew beta my initial thought was that it is a shittier version of Forza Horizon 2.

I think it went on sale recently too. I wanted to pick it up but I have so many other games to play and so little time.
I will most likely grab it when the Steam Holiday sale rolls around though.
According to this Uplay of all places had it for the lowest price of $6 not so long ago.
So definitely keeping an eye on this game when it goes on sale again.

Went back to Origins to try and finish the campaign I started a couple weeks ago. Mouse click movement and auto-attack make things just so much simpler. You could control the whole game by mouse if you wanted to and it frees up more time to focus on the battle as a whole. Really hope they patch that stuff back in.

Agreed.

(Somewhere at Bioware, a dev goes "But...but...but... CONTROLLERS!" )

Can't gamestop get in some pretty serious trouble if their staff sells to minors?
Yep except in that case they were selling it to an adult.
Same thing as the liqueur store sells the booze to an adult that buys it for the kids waiting outside. Even if the store clerk knows will they stop the sale because of it? Most like won't happen, especially not in a gamestop where most employees are min wage/just get through the day/doesn't give a flying fuck kind of peeps.

Chrome isn't really any better than IE11 or FF at this point, so I use each interchangeably.
Actually I find Chrome to be significantly faster than FF, I haven't used IE in over a decade.
I like how when I bookmark something at work shows up on my phone and my pc at home too in the bookmarks. I personally don't care what data they collect, these days we are too digitally connected to avoid that stuff. Only way is to go off the grid and live in the bush
