I don't plan to get either the Titan X or 980's however. nVIDIA has been holding back the 980 Ti, which is apparently supposed to release at the end of the summer (August/September) and is hopefullly going to completely demolish the regular 980's and Titan X in performance judging by the early rumors.
Which makes me wonder how AMD's 3XX cards will fair to the top of the line Nvidia offering.

I went to rob a grocery store with a cement mixer last night. Didn't go so well.

Dude! I literally laughed out loud on that one. Too funny!
It was pretty hilarious.

I was running around doing stupid shit in the city when I got a phone call that I have to go to this grocery store.
I didn't pay much attention to the details so not sure if there were any. The game was telling me to get a car.
A cement mixer was driving down the road, I went in front of it the driver stops I yank the guy out and I remember he was saying something along the lines of "you gotta be fucking kidding me"
I drove to the store and the game tells me to point the gun at the clerk, he starts to fill the bag with cash but the cops are already on their way.
When he finally finish filling the bag I run out of the door and of course no other cars on the road except my lovely cement mixer. I hop in try to drive away from the cops, I think I ended up jumping out of the moving vehicle and swim across this river, managed to somehow get away but I was laughing my ass off.
Dumb criminals reality tv show stuff.

I've never heard of this game before, but looking at the videos it looks interesting.
I'll give the demo a try.

"Specifications will be updated closer to launch."
A month from release and they are still unsure about recommended specs?
But hey it can run 12k

Anyone else have god-awful stutter due to what I can only assume is loading? Happens while driving fast in particular, causing quite a few traffic incidents.
I've had that last night also and had to turn off the stuff in the Advanced video settings.

If you close and open the launcher you sometimes get a big speed boost.

Regarding performance, check this thread out
Lots of info on how the game runs with different configurations. It looks like if you only have 8Gb of RAM you may want to enable the memory page file or the game can run out of memory and crash.
Other than that it looks like the game runs very well on the majority of hardware

Must be nice of you with working GTA V's.
What's the problem?

It will not launch. Tries to open GTA 5 from the launcher, waits, then the lauincher pops up again with this error. Retry/safe mode produces the same thing.

My directX, video card drivers etv.. are all to to date. Running as admin, hell I uninstalled my anti virus it didn't change a thing. Have deleted the executables, redownloaded, erdownloaded the patches, no change. Tried roll backed drivers too.

And there are lots of reports of others with the same issue. Submitted a ticket to rockstar with 0 help. I'm very close to charge back my credit card, grabbing a retail version and trying that. I am not downloading 60gb again t 400kb/sec.
Could it be this problem?

Played online, last night, with my Crew.

I'm pretty amazed. Looks amazing. Silky smooth. Incredible view distance. Even the character import worked pretty well (aside from adding lipstick to my character, for some reason, which was easily removed at the barber shop).

We spent the rest of the night wreaking havoc on the streets and raining fire from the heavens until my Crew finally bailed in the wee hours.

Slow clap, Rockstar.

How is the loading compared to the console versions? The swap between protagonists used to drive me crazy.
For the first mission the switch was pretty much instant, you press Alt and boom you are that other person, or the dog or whatever the missions asks you to switch to.
I didn't play much only an hour or so last night so load times may change later on in the game.

It's important to note that when the characters are next to each other, yeah, load times are quick. Wait until you switch from across the world map - that's a much better gauge of speed.

Yeah that's why I said I am not sure later on maybe it will be different. I am still at the beginning. Didn't get to play much last night, that unlocking process took too long.

The real question is do I get a GTX980 or GTX970

I agree with this. First person looks really pretty but I find myself switching the 3rd person more often. It feels a tad awkward in 1st person. Maybe I gotta play with the head bobbing or something. I tend to get a consistent 60fps in 3rd person and not so much in 1st.
Not sure what the FOV is set to but in first person you are really limited to what you see in front of you vs 3rd person. I tend to switch in between. For shooting 1st person works pretty good, except the weirdness of being in cover, for driving and stuff 3rd person is better.
I didn't get a blowjob last night because I've had my pistol out and the hooker ran away and by the time I put the pistol away I couldn't find her and the sun came up lol
I'll try and see if I can pick one up tonight in 1st person view
