I've just unsubscribed Mac's channel this past weekend. His reviews were getting a little too much for my taste.
He has some funny stuff but most of his videos felt like a couple of minutes of ranting.
I'd rather watch a lets play video and see how the game plays.

Yeah it felt like the only strategy to win in this game is get off planet as soon as you can turtle up on a moon or something and pour your army over to the main planet or smash the moon into the planet and that is it.

In SC there were so many different ways to win and strategize, it was fun and still is. This game just felt so flat and lifeless in comparison.

Anyone interested just check some YouTube gameplay vids to get an idea.

Can you go into a bit more detail? This might just be a personal preference thing, but it looks to me like this plays a lot like Supreme Commander / Total Annihilation did (which were awesome classics in my book, and I loved the "queued orders" playstyle), and I've been curious if this actually is the case.
It is similar playstyle, but for me personally SC1 was more fun.
I might just have to give this game more time but so far I dislike it very much.

It reminds me of Stracraft with "number of action per minute" and macros and build orders, bullshit

TA/ SupCom was all about your build order, so that seems pretty much in keeping with its forefathers?
I know but that game was fun, this one doesn't hold my attention and it is really MP focused.
I don't know it may just be me. I can't really put my finger on exactly what I dislike about it, just not for me I guess.

This is one of the few things I backed back when KS was all the hype.
Me too and tbh I don't like the way the game turned out to be.
Find it more frustrating than fun to play.
Lesson learned.

I've looked at some of the "let's play" videos on the tube and about 2 minutes into the character creation mode I was so bored I was sitting there thinking why the fuck am I wasting my time watching this shit.
Never played any of the previous sims games, is this any good? Does it get any more interesting later on ?
From what I've seen it looked like a facebook game

Whatever people want to call it, Watch Dogs sold way more than it deserved to frankly. I do have hope for the second iteration but Ubisoft has a tendency to go nuts with quantity over quality. AC2 was a good game but overstayed its welcome IMO and the subsequent games have gone too far with repetitive activities woven into the storyline.
Unless you really care about the story line it is best to skip a few AC games and pick up every 3rd or so. That way you don't burn yourself out and you really notice a big leap from one game to the next.
The last I've played was Ass Creed2 I think I will pick up the next one this Fall.

Hope Ubi won't turn Watch Doge into an annual affair as well.
I haven't played it yet but if I see it dirt cheap used somewhere I'll probably grab it for the console.
