I played Conan for a bit then got bored. All my friends play WoW so I when back so I could hang out with them. I think it's going to take an amazing game to pull any significant number of people away from wow.

Movie was already made...it was called Titanic.
Employee: "Bill what the hell?! There is still room on the life boat! Where are you going?"
Bill: "I'm going to get out of this... I'm going to go on and I'm going to make babies and watch them grow and I'm going to die an old lady, warm in my bed. Not here. Not this night. Do you understand me?"
Employee: "I can't feel my body."

BOB SLYDELL Here's a peculiar one. Milton Waddams.
DOM Who's he?
BOB You know, squirrely looking guy, mumbles a lot.
DOM Oh.
BOB SLYDELL We can't find a record of him being a current employee here.
BOB PORTER I looked into it more deeply and I found what happened was he got layed off about five years ago and no one ever told him about it. But through a glitch in Payroll, he still gets a paycheck. I went ahead and fixed the glitch.
BILL Great.
DOM So, um, Milton has been let go.
BOB SLYDELL Just a second there, Professor. We, uh, we fixed the glitch. So he won't be receiving a paycheck anymore. So it'll just work itself out naturally.

I would take the the word of any random Korean over Bill Roper.
Random Korean: Has lied to me 0 times. Bill Roper: Has never told the truth.

Bad sign |

When designers start making huge changes to the core game design just before the game is supposed to be released, its always a bad sign. This shit should have been solidified BEFORE the game went into beta. A beta is for making balancing changes NOT for testing game design ideas.
If this was Blizzard they would have extended the release date OR, more likely, pulled the plug on it all together.

Wow. We're all good little indoctrinated socialists, aren't we?
Flinging around the word "Corporate" as though ALL Corporations are "Evil and Greedy" is just plain nonsense.
Are their "Evil and greedy" companies? Sure. And Flagship falls into that category via their ridiculous pricing scheme. A model that thankfully failed.
But remember... a LOT of these "Corporations" (And privately held companies) provide YOU with a JOB. The Next time your "Professor from a University" or your "Typical Main Stream Media Journalist" get's on his / her political soap box, please remind them of that fact.
Translation: "Bla bla bla, monkeys, evolution ,gay marrage"

I just love how people make colossal fuck ups and learn some mundane lesson they should have learned simply by picking up any book written about design in general.

Why would anyone even mention Crytek and Blizzard in the same sentence. Sure they make some pretty nifty tech demos, but there games are middling at best and easily forgettable.

Played for about a month then realised that funcom hasn't even the first clue about balancing any of the gameplay.
I felt like I was going in for heart surgery and I spot the surgon reading a book called, "So You Are Going To Perform Heart Surgery"
They didn't inspire me with alot of confidence.

I wonder why so many think Blizzard North is Blizzard. Blizzard North is gone. Almost all of the members left to different developers in 2005. Blizzard North made Diablo 1&2. This one looks just like WoW 2.0.
Well alot of people from Blizzard North made Hellgate:London and look what an abortion that turned into.
I looks like they're gonna throw alot of talent and cash on this one. There is a difference between a developer that polished their games and doesn't have to worry about funding and a team that is living on debt and Mac and Cheese.
I wouldn't be surprised if some of the guys form Flagship showed up on Blizzard's doorstep with hat in hand asking for their jobs back.
My money is on the the big red guy with the horns.
