Yay! I love the look of the heavily armored Dark Elves in the game. Now I can't wait to roll one up!

Same games. Seriously. They're the same. Cod4? The same. Playing online with Mouse and keyboard is probably different than than using a controller but it's all relative. 360 players play against 360 players, pc vs pc.

Ya, but playing the console version is like competing in the special Olympics. As long as you drive a couple of nails into your frontal lobe everything is even Steven.

The Witcher is past a million sales and still going strong, even though it has just a simple CD check.

The Witcher used TAGES which has notoriously unstable drivers. That is FAR from a simple CD check.

And DRM would change this how......? Are you trying to defend DRM because it's either deal with this or no one pays for anything? They don't seem to related in my book.

I'm not defending DRM. What I'm saying piracy is so rampant in these markets, releasing a single player game there is pointless (financially speaking). In order to make any money developers think about how to wrap the game around a payment system then they create the game.

Here they still make the single player game and then staple some kind of protection onto it at the end. DRM is only really present when there is no client/server model present(WoW and Guild Wars)to force some kind of authentication.

I hate DRM as much as the next guy but at this point a lot of developers are asking themselves "Why should we make games for the PC when we can make more money on console games?"

There is a lot of things I should be protesting:

1. global warming
2. the Iraq war
3. nipple rings

But frankly I'm too lazy to do it. I see a day when every legitimate user will not be able to play a game without logging onto a server for authentication in some way.

Look at the market in China and Korea, piracy is so rife the the ONLY games that make money there are games that you have to pay to play. It's so bad there that they don't even bother selling the box on the shelf, just a code on a website.

Show me any hobby and I'll show you a pastime where monetization has slipped into EVERY aspect. Remember fishing? Once you could go out on a wharf with a line tied to a stick and catch a fish....but now its a $1000 commitment.

It's sad that our hobby is changing for the worse, but it feels like were just a bunch of angry old men shaking our fists at a brick wall.

I'd disagree. C&C has always been more traditional than other RTSes, focusing on speed and intense micromanagement more than anything else. It's like Quake v.s. Operation Flashpoint. Two very different games but neither is necessarily superior than the other. They are simply different styles.

You mean keeping the game essentially the same as Dune2 as not to upset the money/apple cart. RTS games have moved on ...C&C has become a cliche of itself. If I want to watch B list actors acting in campy a production I'll just turn on the sci-fi channel. If I want a good RTS I'll play CoH.

One of my old Diablo2 disks is pretty scratched up so when I wanted to play again I simply Bit torrented it and used my key. I don't think that is illegal as long as you purchased the game and have your own key.

And if it is ...well tough titties.

Every time I've bought a Blizzard product I've always felt I had gotten my money's worth. So I'm going to give them the benefit of the doubt until they prove otherwise.

Speaking of getting my money worth, I picked up The Witcher Enhanced Edition last week. Holly crap did they go above and beyond!

Big Bang theorists require a person take, on nothing but blind faith, that these "explosions" somehow created something from nothing and that these things that were "created" by these "explosions" somehow were able to survive in this "newly formed out of nothing" environment. Somehow, it seems to be more of a leap of faith to believe that than to believe there is an intelligent designer of our universe.

</facepalm>

Really fallout died after Fallout 2.

If Betheda was serious about making this a great game they would have fired their animators and 3d model character designers and hired people that were actually competent. But from what I've seen from previews the same shitty models/animations that have plagued Morrowind and Oblivion are still there!

All we need now is for some buffoon to hand over the Freespace IP to Derek Smart and the desecration of classics will be complete.

RIP Interplay/Black Isle

Banhammer says 9844 accounts banned so far for selling gold...that's a lot of money.

In my eyes at least.
