How many years has this game supposedly been in development again?
How many times have they restarted from scratch?
Unless they got some serious mind blowing goodness in store for us, it will be a let down no matter how good or Duke-ish it is.

I remember taking the ice-ty-plunge myself. Was several years back and I didnt just hit the pavement. I hit my car with my head, then my head hit the pavement. I had forgotten about the less than fun event until mentioned here.

John Titor and our bleak future |

For those of you who like this whole bleak future stuff, check out the story behind JOhn Titor if you havent already. While he is and was a fake, it was an interesting read and had a similar "yucky world" vibe like that "report" did. I think many of us thrive on bad news, like stopping at the scene of a horrible accident or spending extra time reading news stories about horrors of war etc.

At least his seemed to be original. And while fake, our fate as a country here in the US could very well head that way.
On another note, did anyone else read this story a few years back about this guy who predicted that as a planet, it would take a massive global nightmare (I think he predicted that we'd have to have a disaster or war that killed multiples of millions of people) to shake things up and put us on the right path to being a united race again instead of strangers living next to each other?
Are we really that distant that a large chunk of us would have to die in order to get back to basics and be friends with strangers?

I was very sad to see the ending of the show. Without spoiling it for those haven't seen it, I thought it was well done, they completed many things and left us on a positive note.
But that did not make it any easier to see it finish. S&TC is one of the few shows I have made it my mission to see each week. Now with Friends and Frasier ending too, I am going to have to find some new shows to love. WE WANT NEW SIX FEET UNDER DANGIT!!!

I miss dobies, I've had 3 over the years. The first 2 had their ears and tails modified, the last had only his tail done.
My current dog is kinda a mix of shep and lab with some chow in her as well (her tongue is a cool purple and pink speckle). She's awesome aside from her rambunctiousness. And her tail has spilled many beers and drinks in the short time I've had her. I learned to not leave stuff on the tables she has tail access to. Alot easier and less painful than clipping it for sure.

Actually Alton spends alot of his time at BB&B. And I agree on the pricing of WS vs BBB/Walmart/Target.

I guess that's the way it works. Fans do their 'thing' quietly, their 'thing' is discovered, gets slashdotted so to speak, and every plows thru on their way to the next cool thing.
Meanwhile the true fans/enthusiasts were there all along and will be after the rest move on.

This kind of music has been around for a while in one form or another. You have the purists who believe the entire piece should be done with the same unit... and those who believe that adding some external samples is OK, and then there are those who hack the devices to such a degree that they produce amazing strange sounds.

Maybe it's sad for some of you but me, I don't care really if it's delayed. Maybe they will spend some more time making it new and different from UT03 and UT.
Don't get me wrong here, I totally fell in love with the original UT (I had the chance to preview it for IMG and was hooked). But I felt that, for the most part, 03 was just more of the same and didnt see like a big deal to me. So I skipped it.
When 04 comes out, I will probably check the demo and get it if I really love it. But only if it's fun and has some new twists.
I'm what you call a financially-strapped gamer. And every single game I purchase is a bill I cannot afford instead. So I am super careful of what I purchase anymore.

The Flaming Lips, now thats a blast from the past. I remember ages ago a friend in CA told me I should check out this band that he dug... I told him they were Okies and I had seen them already. Kinda wierd since CA usually gets hip to stuff before the rest of us here in OK. (Tulsa area)

I've got plenty of RAM actually for now. Altho I'd like to get another 512. Costs money tho. I had no problem spending $35 on a CPU upgrade tho.
And BTW I do stop at stop signs and wait my 3 seconds before I go.

Congrats on your impending bills on that CC, BubbleMage!
Me, I just plain straight out cannot afford XP. I have other stuff like electricity, gas, food, that sort of thing that I need to take care of.
Yes I've been resisting because Im not a fan of the MS juggernaut, and I am a Mac guy at heart who games on his PC from time to time. So spending the money is more of a "if I got extra" sort of thing.
I guess I will have to watch and whine until I either win the lottery or find cash laying in the street.

Will be interesting to see what the masses think once they have tried these puppies on their systems. Id like to see what the diff visually and performancewise is.
And Im dying to run Halo and 3DMark03 with it.

Am I the only one still running 98?
Very disapointed I am that this choice was made.
So to get the performance I should get now with my FX card, I have to sink $99-$170 (home/pro) to upgrade to XP. Not to mention the cost of the card, the games I want to run, and anything that XP breaks.
I am a sad financially strapped gamer today. : :-sniffle-: :
