are you crazy man? the game looks great! It may, I know my view is slightly shifted by the fact they picked a completely unproven & unplayed RTS as the only PC game to be played at the CPL, but for what's supposedly a strategy game, I've seen very little actual strategy going on in the videos, just in-engine cutscenes.

I for one would rather have a few good, polished maps, rather than a whole bunch of shitty gimmicky ones.
Enemy Territory shipped with 6 maps, and it was absolutely no problem at all.

The problem with these kinds of games is that within a week or so, all the faggot little kids on the planet that play Starcraft2 will learn some cheesy faggot little strategy that 40% of faggots will use. This strategy will be so completely faggot that most people who just want to enjoy some competition and play against others will quickly realize that just like Tiberium Sun and other games before and after it; the homo boys will be making strats from the cheese factory. Try not sucking at the game.

Geez...not having my Bluesnews fix this morning is starting my day out all wrong. How can I waste time at work browsing the internet if there's nothing to read? Heh, tell me about it! At least there's a somewhat active thread here, otherwise I would be completely bored.

Hah, that was pretty funny. It does indeed look like they've really improved on it too; his nostrils flaring for instance. I was expecting something corny, but they've really picked up well on the 60s stereotyped character deal pretty well. Reminds me of NOLF.

I was gonna ask the same thing. I don't know what's significant about the blow-up detail in the upper right hand corner. Check out that third vapor trail: that rocket was being fired from an ENEMY pilot.

Er, what defines "hardcore"? Super Smash Bros. It has managed to carve itself a rather sizable niche in the competitive fighting scene.

Hahahaha if that's what it takes for you to feel good about yourself, go for it, buddy. I read every word of that mess. Oh and the way you misspelled my name? GENIUS.

Is that clear enough for you? Oh Zeph, how your posts amuse me. At least they would if I had bothered reading more than a line or two of that mess. Hope you had fun wasting your time typing that hahaha.

The water reflection, the sun beams, the ability to see into shadow, all are good things. The attention to detail here would mark a step up in the amount complex geometry on the screen at one time.
Am i missing something here? Isn't this all hand-drawn concept art?

"We are working like hell to get this done - and it is no where near where it should be. We spent wayyyy to much time working on Portal and TF2 - so Episode 2 will probably suffer - sorry." Heh, I wouldn't mind if that were true. I can't say I really give a crap about any of the storyline of HL2. I'm buying Epi2 for TF2 and Portal.

For the cost of their monthly fee you get quite a bit. Indeed, but still the price-point was a bit high for me, a poor college student. I've been sorely tempted to pick it up for like 6 months or so, drop $40-$50 of a normal PC game, and really enjoy it.

I was a bit skeptical about Gametap, but they've seem to have done very well for themselves, and these new changes make me even more tempted to subscribe.

That's my thought exactly. Looks good, has a lot of potential, but still looks a little TOO CoD-ish... FWIW, I don't grow tired of the scripted business. I'm not the type to replay a game either, once I play it once it's done.
If it's just CoD but with updated weapons, maybe some new mechanics, and the story isn't like some cheesy Van Damme movie, it'll probably have a sale from me, especially for multiplayer.
