actually, I got Killzone, I just had a brainfart and forgot it. It is good looking for a ps2 game and would be a pretty ok game on the PC.

wow guys! "ultra-realistic “ragdoll” physics"!!
Have you ever heard of something like that? It will blow us away cause it's...new...and all..

If this game is supposed to run on a PS2 they sure are gonna hafta cut out ALOT of gfx and options. Because we all know, when multiplatform games are in the making, the PC is last on the list. (KOTOR is an exception)

I godda agree with Big_B, two guys agaisnt one and you post(or whine about whiners hehe) alot more, so this thread is filled up mostly by you. (Just an observation )

And to keep it on the subject, HL2 wasnt so buggy for me, had just a little stutter here and there. That valve released an even more buggy demo then the full game is a pretty big mistake/miss. There was even a patch for the stuttering in the retail version before this demo right? Why not implement it in the demo before they release it?

It's at times like these I'm glad I'm neutral. I like HL2, D3, FarCry, Riddick, Painkiller aqually as much. They were fun in their own way and comparing them on teh intarnet only makes you look stupid.

The whole steam thing, well...I hate it, but I suck it up and just install it and played through HL2 then uninstalled.
Sure, there is an urge to tell everyone what I dont like, but it would only end up like...this thread.

...it sure is fun to read though

50. yay Dec 18, 2004, 07:08 Panick

hey hey, I also checked "Keep Gothic 1 control scheme". I really liked the controls, sets it out from all the other wasd games.

Gothic I and II are the best sp games I have played. I loved Morrowind also as it had it's own qualites. As I see it, there is just too few real RPG's for the PC, so cherrish the few good ones we have

Can't wait for Gothic III!
(and I'm gonna play it with old Gothic 1 control scheme

Actually Gojo, I was talking about the graphics SETTINGS. I meant that there are alot of options to configure. I realized a long time ago that some people like eq2 and some wow, and arguing about whitch one is best is less then pointless.

I like WoW and EQ2, just that EQ2 suits me more.

Edit: oh yeah, and talking NPC's sure do ALOT for EQ2.

Well, as was said, EQ2 has the best and biggest gfx settings ever seen in a game. You can configure absolutely everything. Everyone can get it to run smothly.

In my case, I got 3.4Ghz, 1024 DDR PC4000, GF FX 6800 U overclocked. I run normaly on High quality when I run around in the big cities and Very high quality when I'm outside in the open. Sometimes I even run Ultra high, but it's just for show(and a GREAT show it is!). It even says in the settings that no existing computer right now is able to run it. In some areas like very foggy swamp forests I need to set it down to Balanced, which is the recommended medium gfx quality overall.

But yes, for those with less then a stellar rig, they will not run this game with all the bells and whistles.

And to really appreciate the graphics you need to see it in motion. Screens dont do it justice.

I must be that 1 guy in 300 that likes EQ2 over WoW.
I played WoW through the whole closed and open beta. Tried lots of races and classes. The thing that I thought I would hate the most was the gfx, but I actually got to like it in time. It's got a nice feel to it even though it's grossly low poly. The thing is that Wow is just...too good, or maybe too easy is a better word. Everyone can get into WoW fast and become high lvl in a few weeks.

I just need a little more then WoW has to offer, so I have been playing EQ2 a few weeks now and I enjoy it alot more cause of it's complexity and it's gfx and other features.

Hope you guys will enjoy WoW, it's a great game.

387. HDR? Nov 17, 2004, 09:07 Panick

So I'm playing HL2 a while and come to the place where Valve showed of their HDR and lightning effects. An attic of some sort that goes out to a roof where a big alien stood. Well it doesnt look at all like I saw it in the bink video. No options for it in the settings, so I search for some way to activate it in the cfg's. Nothing there, so I search the web and find: "It's a shame Valve removed both HDR and lighting effects from Half Life 2"

This is from PC Gamer supposedly? I never read it so I don't know. Is this old news or what?

Or why not just start that betatesting they have been talking about? Let a few thousand people from the community test it instead of just 10-20 developers. Guess which takes more time?

Actually, i just followed the instructions and went throught the whole demo in 15-20 min on the first run. Cant imagine how you guys get stuck in the first level... it aint that hard.

I liked it, some gfx updates, new moves, darker setting, new music. A worthy sequel.

Is this the exact same demo that leaked a month ago? You start at the crazy bet guy, kill some cops, get a camera, change into some other robot, do a little race?

If not I'll hafta download this one, cause it was fun.

Edi: 290mb isnt so much, lately a couple of demos have been around 500+ mb.
