I wish I knew what prat told them that thickness (thinness) is so important. I'd be perfectly happy with it being 25mm thick if it would run for 3 days on 1 charge.

Don't forget that Unreal had a software renderer (no 3D card required!) and the single core CPUs of the day were woeful by modern standards. It really was pretty gorgeous in it's day.

I wonder if the Norman Nielsen Group will issue a grovelling apology like Ellen DeGeneres?

Yes,you can't go wrong with a Monocle (even if you wear it in the wrong eye it still looks great)
Monocles are back in fashion
Actually, I have astigmatism in only one eye and good focus at screen distance, I should definitely get one!

And after that the 3D remakes. FFS stop messing about with it and do something new!

Here's hoping that his son eschews football for FPS video games and porn movies, then our vengeance will be complete! :-)

Of course they have to release a PC version of the game, we're their beta testers remember ;-)
The official beta testers are demonstrably a pile of crap, there are ALWAYS patches to new games within days - or less - http://www.bluesnews.com/s/107927/battlefield-bad-company-2-ships-day-one-patch-released
Still, I guess online console games can join in the patching fun, it's not like they use ROM cartridges still (when programmers actually had to get it right the first time).

1. Re: No New Consoles in Next 4 Years Mar 1, 2010, 22:28 UnderLord

But PC video cards will keep getting better and better and they will be the basis of the next gen' consoles.
So Epic and the rest will have to return to the PC to develop their engines and technology in readiness for those consoles.
I bet we see a Natal add-on for the PC too since the PCs are going to make the current consoles look rubbish well before the next generation is released, partly because I think 64-bit and 8GB RAM is just about to take off.

"We had the whole game fully playable around E3 last year, and we've just been balancing, tuning, polishing and iterating in post-production since."

And I still bet that it will be shipped with bugs and there will be updates required within a fortnight

Neither do I, nor care.
The story-line sounds woeful and all the game had going for it many moons ago was great graphics, which are now looking very ho-hum.
I suppose that's what you get going with a platform with long evolution cycles.

All those 12" rulers have about 1/8" extra at each end, so they are all 12.25" long. That means the figure is short by 603776021.72916666666666666666667 feet or 114351.51926688762626262626262626 miles! ;-)

We're not only ready for it, we have their answer - Stick it up your @$$!
I think everyone has learnt the Kindle lesson about DRM encrusted media.

Look up a couple of lines on the Blues News page and you find this story - O'Reilly drops ebook DRM, sees 104% increase in sales

So, It's NOT OK for Microsoft to tie Internet Explorer to Windows, but fine for Google to force Chrome Browser and their own Media Player into Chrome OS?
Double standards like that piss me right off!

The best attempt at a spiritual successor was probably BeOS, and even with a pretty large fan-base that still failed.
I doubt this will make it past August.
